Graphics settings menu forces incorrect resolution
Since one the recent updates, if you enter the settings menu and hit Graphics, you'll get shown a box without your native resolution, and the game will automatically force the top-most (incorrect) resolution.
My native resolution is 1440x900 (16:10) and the top most resolution show is 1366x768 which is 16:9.
Restarting does not fix the problem. The only way to fix this is to edit regedit to change the resolution to the correct values.
If users don't have 'scale to fit' settings on their display and the game forces an incorrect resolution then their display might not even show the game since it will be out of range.

Hi there.
So I found a way to stop the game forcing incorrect resolution.
The problem is the game trying to force the best resolution depending on your currently one.
In my case, as I use 1680x1050 on Windows, it would force 1920x1080 on the game (partially cutting the sides during the battles).
My preferably resolution for playing this game is 1600x900 (or 1600x1000, I don't remember precisely). So, the work around:
1- Tech support (https://mtgarena-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038694451-Display-Issues).
Following that, I found on registry "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Wizards Of The Coast/MTGA/" the key "Screenmanager Resolution Use Native"
2- Change it's value to "0" (zero)
This will "force" the game to use the option you choose inside it's menu, other than trying a "better" one.Hope this is helpful.
Another work around is to check if your GPU is forcing "escale" or "re-escale" of your resolution. Plenty of topics talking about that.
On my case, I also found my native Intel Card had that option set on. Even as the game uses the Nvidia, the Intel was causing some troubles.See you all in Arena!

Bought a brand new M32U 4k monitor with 140 fps option. The visuals lag on the game to the point its unplayable, but on my smaller monitor it still works. ..... wtf?

Just started this game hoping to get back into MTG, playing on a Mac, and the game cuts off the edges of the battlefield like some of the other comments here. I can't see the full card text when things are played. In settings there is only one resolution setting offered and it's not correct. This happens whether in windowed mode or fullscreen. Please fix this already; this has clearly been a problem for a long time.

I only have 1 option for resolution and it's so small in my screen. Also on Mac

Same here on the Mac. Since Crimson Vow the game cut of left and right side of the screen with no changes allowed in the resolution. Before all was working.

Also have had this issue since Crimson Vow. Tried everything that support suggested, they ended up closing ticket as unsolvable. Lol.

Also having resolution trouble. I've tried every solution suggested, both in the troubleshooting, and here by users, and I cannot get a resolution above 1280x720.

I have the same problem, since the crimson vow patch came out. I tried the troubleshooting solution deleting the screenmanager archives, but it still works with the wrong resolution. This bug is uncomfortable, the cards cannot be read correctly and it cannot be played like that.

I have the same Problem.
As suggested by the tech support site (https://mtgarena-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038694451-Display-Issues) I deleted the three entries in the registry. Now the game starts with the correct resolution (1680*1050). However as soon as I enter the Graphic Options Menu, the game reverts to a wrong resolution and I have to repeat the procedure. -

I have a similar issue where, no matter how many times I change the screen resolution in the menu, the game *always* reverts it to its default setting. The issue is that the default resolution causes the game to lag and crash.
Why is it so hard for the game to keep the settings a player enters in? This really shouldn't be an issue.

I'm having the same problem as skotchcarte#61290 ... sides of the screen are not showing eventhough I was able to fix the resolution (which is somehow not provided in the settings-tab). The menues look fine, yet, ingame the sides are clipped.

Since the Khaladesh remastered update,
for my 4 by 3 screen resolution (1024x768)
the battlefield is cropped on both side to fit the screen.
(where it was extended vertically before.)The issue makes the player's library and graveyard out of reach,
as well as part of the lands and planeswalker/saga allocated space. The issue can be mitigated somewhat, by changing the ingame resolution to a 16by9 one, yet this is far from optimal.

This is still a bug.
My setting of 1920x1080 is rarely kept, sometimes it is.
And this applies to a new login or just being in a differnt section: Start, Profile, Decks, Store or in a new duell and so on.
Sometimes you have to change the resolution in every screen, sometimes only in some, sometimes it is correct from the beginning. -

@Notomo#67787 really thank you, the fix worked for me ! i had the issue when playing some old games that change my magic resolution settings now i know how to solve it ,

The solution with regedit is FALSE. MTGA will force the optimal resolution every time you start your game which means if you play on the laptop with 4K screen (as mine Alienware) it will always revert to the 4K resolution no matter how you alter the registry :(. It sucks a lot...

Bump because this is still an issue after nearly three months. I wonder how many users are running in a wonky resolution and bits of their screen are missing and they have no idea how to solve it. The play button sometimes almost disappears off the screen and I think I've seen users posting 'I have no Play button', I wonder if this is why.
