This is still happening. It's absolutely ridiculous how bad this game is right now. Takes about 15 minutes to load the game, and crashes five minutes later. Fix your app.

Not only does this on launch, but if a connection error happens during play the reconnect button kicks back to the loading screen and it does it again. Turns any small glitch into a match loss guaranteed, very frustrating.

Every time it does that asset validation thing, the assets folder grows a couple gigabytes as well. Eventually it's necessary to do a full cleanup just to be able to use the computer again.

Same for me, although on a PC running Win7. It crashes after every couple of games and then I get the message about validating assets when it tries to restart. Then takes 20 minutes to validate the assets before I can play again. Getting sick of this...

Every time I load MTG Arena on my MacBook I get the "an asset error occurred..." statement where it checks the assets every time I start. I have tried quitting the game in different ways (menu, close window etc) and it still shows the error.

I love MTGA but consistently get error messages and it often takes 20+ tries before I can log onto MTGA to play a game or two before it crashes and the multiple error messages start again. It is so frustrating. I am so happy I can (theoretically) play on my Mac. But the experience has been so frustrating as the game is often unplayable. Please advise.

same issue from day 1 at MAC. today came new issue = after load and chose the game 'colors challenge' or jumpstart , games crashed.
It is really frustrating , specially when you wait game 1year and spend 50$ to support Wizards efforts.
Really hope that it fill be fixed soon and developers knows about this issue well from day1 -

The game has been stable on my Macbook Pro once it does eventually launch but I do have to get past that exact asset error EVERY session, which can take 10 minutes on my old computer.

Getting this error on Mac since day one MTGA for Mac.
I was expecting to be fixed on the latest update, but the error persists.
Did a "Verification" of MTGA from Epic App but no luck. -

Same problem here on a 2018 Macbook Pro running Catalina.
I get that companies want to get products out, but judging from the amount of people I have seen on macos post about this error, it has to have been widespread during their internal beta of the game and they just shipped it in a very buggy state.
