Whenever I load Arena, I get a message saying "An asset error occurred during your last play session. Validating asset files to ensure stability, this may take a while." Once the game loads, it either immediately crashes or crashes very shortly upon entering the game.

Happens every time for me, but thankfully doesn't usually take too long.

This happens to me on my admittedly older MacBook Pro every time. Even after reinstalling or if I need to reconnect after it finally finishes. Also slows everything else on my laptop, though I’m sure it’s age is involved. Please fix so we can play your game!!

Having the same issue, but haven't experienced any crashes yet. MacOS 10.13.6, late-2011 MacBook Pro.

This is happening to me every time I start the game. After it goes through the validating assets business, the app crashes (MTGA quit unexpectedly, with a Mac crash report). If I click the the Reopen button on that screen, it goes through the "asset error occurred" once again. Usually, the second time around, the game starts successfully. One time today, though, I got a black screen and music with the spinning color wheel and had to force-quit the app.

Confirmed. It's a real pain using this app on a Mac. Starting the app results as described above, additionally it crashes on every single option, be it looking for an opponent, going to the store or mastery tree or whatever.
Not being able to run this app in fullscreen mode on a 16" MacBook Pro is hard enough, but it would be ok if it simply would run -

Another mac user here. This happens for me at every launch. The app seems to really slow down my systems, but the Activity Montior Utility gives inconsistant readings on how many resources the app is taking up.

Second launch on for me. The first launch, where it downloaded the assets, just froze the app. I forced it quit after 10 or 15 minutes of a spinning beachball.

Yes! This exact scenario plays out every time I start up. It takes 6-9 minutes or so. Not the worst, but also a bit insufferable. I thought it was just a problem with my computer. I’m running Mac OS 10.15.5.

The same thing happens to me. Mac OSX 10.15.5.
Sometimes the game works after the lengthy loading time, but other times the game crashes/quits unexpectedly the moment I try to enter a ranked BO1 game.

Also happening to me. It takes over 20 min to find the assets too. Happens every time I start it no matter if it was closed correctly or not.

This happens every time I open the app, and reinstalling does not work.

I am having the same problem. I did a uninstall. Removed all the asset data ( that is surprisingly not being removed when you do an uninstall ) and installed it again. As soon as the menu was shown I closed the app in the proper way, restarted it again it spend 2 minutes checking assets because my last game session apparently resulted in an asset error. It must be noted that the app also still remembered my login credential so apparently still not everything was removed with the uninstall. I have tried 3 games in total. All of them resulted in a crash or disconnect, with no changes to get back into the game on time because of 2 minutes assets checking.

Every time I start up the Mac version of Arena this process (screenshot) begins taking up to 30 minutes. I didn't experience any issues during the last session so I wonder, what's happening with this routine.

Also happening frequently to me too on Mac.

Upon launching the game, I am given a screen that says "An asset error occurred during your last play session. Validating asset files to ensure stability, this may take a while.
This happens at every launch, even when the client is closed through Adjust Options > Exit Game

Arena won't Install, and I've tried all the advanced troubleshooting with no luck. It says the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
Have tried the following:
- Restart PC
- Restart router
- Disable Firewall
- Trying another admin account
- DNS Flushed
- Edited hosts and reset it
- Re-installed Windows 10 to a fresh copy
- Downloaded new installer file from: https://magic.wizards.com/en/mtgarena
- Tried Installer from: https://forums.mtgarena.com/forums/threads/58489Still nothing working and I get the same error:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personell for assistance."
