Shuffler algoritm
Please do away with shuffler algorithms; just randomize it. I feel I need to build a deck to suit the algorithms which I don't want to.' The algo is completely obvious and often ridiculous. I think it would be great for MTG to just randomize it, because the shuffler seems to work best with copy paste unoriginal decks. So fix it. Now. Random is cheaper to for you guys. Fire some people, whatever.

Arena is biased. You got mana flooded or screwed, there is no middle ground. What are the odds to play Into the story and get four lands?
-
Surculus#70236 commented
What makes you think that going 8 turns w/o drawing a single land in a deck that's >30% mana is in any way reflective of reality or in the least bit fun for either player? It's not fun for the winner when they're opponent is clearly being hosed, and it is certainly not fun for the player on the receiving end of the abuse. GET WITH THE POGROM! DEATH TO INCOMPETENT PROGRAMMING!

It would be really nice if wins and losses were based solely on random factors and not pre-determined by the matchmaking and shuffler algorithm. It is impossible for all of the statistical anomalies that happen on a daily basis to occur without blatant match rigging occurring in the coding behind the scene.
Stop limiting the pool of opponents based on what cards you have in your deck in a clear bid to manipulate wins and losses based on current winning percentage and other factors.
Your player base is fed up with this BS. Fix your broken game.

i been playing wow classic all over again. we're in naxx now. I been playing wow now for over a year. i swear to you i had to find another game after i left arena. i left arena because no rng. all pre-determind. i could not believe this type of toxicity is in video games but this is not the only one. Blizzard has its own cancer that is money with dirty deeds. You truly showed your customers you value money way more than commitment

Try taking a three month break, come back, win 7-x three drafts in a row, then lose everything to color screw, mana screw or mana flood. The game does not care about what rank you are, rather if it's profitable for Hasbro that you win or not.

Thanks for destroying such a great game, back to World of Warcraft for a few more months...

try and play a reanimator deck type. literally everyone will have anti grave hate deck like ashiok... SUPER FUN!

... and then you only draw color A land and color B spells.

If you win too much, you will start flooding!

As a joke on my livestream I made a deck to PROVE how rigged the shuffler is, and ironically it was actually a very successful deck. I won 75% of the games I played, until it figured out what decks could beat it and then those were the only decks I was matched against to manipulate my win/loss ratio closer to 50/50.
I built a 60 card deck with 30 land cards, and it was actually very effective since they manipulate your starting hand and draws based off of outside factors not related to random number generation (current win/loss streak, amount of money spent, what types of cards in your deck, etc.) I have never played a worse pay to win game that pretends it is an evenly matched strategy game.
They are manipulating your starting hand, they are manipulating your draws, they are manipulating who you are matched up with, and they are attempting to manipulate wins and losses in EVERY SINGLE GAME!
This is not a fair product, it is 100% a shady Ponzi scheme.
DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME!
-
Dameon Geppetto#78715 commented
The shuffler is less of a problem than the matchmaking. They are manipulating wins and losses in many different ways. DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS RIGGED GAME. Boycott everything Hasbro makes. I will never spend money on any product made by WotC or Hasbro ever again.

@Thalen I had seen people saying that Magic Online didn't seem to have the same issues... Maybe they tune the games differently because they have different markets.
I wonder what Arena will look like after the mobile version goes live... the mobile market is a gold mine.
I really hope people are able to collect a bunch of data before it drops and see if there are any dramatic changes once the whale filled mobile market is open to them.

c'mon DO something about this...
I have a deck with 26 manas (60 cards - 22 lands - 4 dual side spell/creature-lands)... and I never draw the 3-4 mana... Always died first... my opponent with more than 9 manas (commons, not a single ramp spell), Im stuck with 3.. and a median of 3 mana cost of cards... this has been the same the last few days ... why ?? I dont seem to win one single game in maybe 20-30 battles ... why the constant mana scr*w ??

Thalen#99187 commented
@Nosbor, what version does not have the same busted shuffler? The 1997 Microprose version? certainly not Magic online it's shuffler is just as broken, seen a few people saying MODO is fine and yes as long as you buy tix your okay but stop buying tix and watch the game just become unplayable. THe only difference between the two online versions is the"hand smoothing algorithm" as they call it, is openly admitted.

Nosbor commented
I spent money on this game with the understanding I was playing the digital equivalent of paper magic. Fixing matches to keep people playing is fine... if you are explicitly honest about it.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is intentional. Wizards/Hasbro have WAY too much money and market research available to not have a functional randomizer. They also have a another online game with an algorithm that does not have these same problems.
Telling me there is something called 'hand smoothing' does not count as disclosing the truth under the hood. There is enough empirical evidence in posts here and elsewhere that show this is and has been a massive problem. Please come forward and say 'after much community outcry, we have decided to rework our shuffling algorithm', you don't even have to admit wrongdoing. Just own it and fix it.
When not fixing it makes you money, it shows intent.
I'm disappointed in myself for spending money on this game. I will not be purchasing another Hasbro product until they acknowledge there is a problem and a present a solution, or prove there isn't one.
