Please do away with shuffler algorithms; just randomize it. I feel I need to build a deck to suit the algorithms which I don't want to.' The algo is completely obvious and often ridiculous. I think it would be great for MTG to just randomize it, because the shuffler seems to work best with copy paste unoriginal decks. So fix it. Now. Random is cheaper to for you guys. Fire some people, whatever.
At this picture i had only 3 cards in my graveyard. Every other card can be saw in the Picture. I had only 4 mana left in the whole deck.. And this happens every time. Mana flooded...
Similar Shuffles happened in 30% of the games that i played today.
So the shuffler has always been a problem but lately... holy ****!! Its been bad but when I was playing the mythic rated white aggro deck, and got flooded like 6 games in a row when the deck only has 18 land I knew there was a problem.
Im gonna get all the naysayers stating oh its random deal with it, but its been weeks and weeks and even months dare I say where 95% of games I lose due to mana ***** of some sort. I don't care about winning, but when the only way I can win is when my opponent gets mana screwed worse and the stupid shuffler smooths my deck out before his its absolutely astoundingly frustrating.
It took the cake when I was playing the white deck with 18 land and in the top 13 cards I drew 7 land... according to hypergeometric calculators thats literally a 0.0007% chance of happening. **** shuffler is whack and I almost want a refund on all the **** money ive spent on this game.
I used cockatrice for years and years cause MTGO was just to expensive, but I got into Arena cause I love Magic. Well in Cockatrice (which is 100% random) I have never had such consistent and astronomically improbably odds to give me such bad draws!!
Anyway rant over, I watch a massive amount of youtube streamers as well and I never seen any of them deal with this jank! There is alot of other crazy stuff that happens with the shuffler but ill just leave it at that insane string of games with the white deck with 18 lands...

drew 6 lands in a row, not cool, not random, not fair. i honestly want my money back. this none random encounters with cards isn't fair and i want a full refund of every dollar i've ever spent on this game. It is known that there are card values placed on cards and it needs to be removed for fair and competitive play.
people are finding ways to mod the game so that you can't get mana or get all mana or that you get no mana in your opening hand. Also they get 4 copies of mythic rare cards or get the perfect hand to start with every game and i can't get one copy of any of my good cards.
people hack to make you get no mana for 20 turns or all mana for 20 turns.
Either I have the worst luck or there is something seriously wrong. Ever since I made it to Dimond ranking in Eldraine Season 3, without exaggeration, EVERY opening hand both in BO3 & BO1 standard ranked is poorly setup in the manner as shown in the attachments. Those are 7 games opening hands consecutively.
I’m trying to play around these hands and have resorted to basically mulliganing every single game. But this is starting to become frustrating to say the least. It’s not exactly enjoyable to drop games and rank because of this. Losing a game straight up, sure okay. But never getting to actually play the game is not great.
For reference I am running 24 lands in this deck and the average mana cost is 2.8.
I continue to also have more games where in I sit on 2 lands or something of that nature for at minimum 4+ turns before drawing another land by which I’m so far behind it’s laughable, than actual games where I hit a land drop each game.
In the last 15 games I’ve hit my land drop each turn once. Albeit that game I was flooded out and drew only 2 non lands the whole game which lasted 5 turns
Deck shuffling or something is off now after season end. I run a primarily green white token deck. Since season end, I have played 4 rounds in Ranked and lost all of them due to not drawing any green mana. Deck is balanced and I was ranked platinum previously. Now, due to these losses and the drop down to begin with at season start, I am silver 2. Please look into this ASAP.

please fix shuffle. Too many games as of late where I draw endless lands. My last as example, long drawn out game, after about 10 minutes of play I had 7 lands available, then I started drawing nothing but land, the next time I got a playable card I was at 20 out of 24 available. And on the flip side to this it has been the same for no lands. Too many games with a 60 card deck to find no land draws after the first 3. Shuffle is broken. Please add a shuffle function with 3 methods, so a customer can choose what method works best for them. Add it in the decks section, so it does not add to game delay.
I've played five games in a row where I was only given two lands, and I had a maximum of three by turn 7. You need to fix the shuffling.
Not being able to play the game is not a valid losing condition, and a Draw must be given until you figure out how to properly design a digital game.
Don't feel the draws are working randomly
Sometimes it's look like the computer try to have you loose (or win) the game .
Currently sitting at 7 losses in a row (today), all of which were completely unwinnable no matter the combination of cards I played. Includes both ranked and unranked, meta and off-meta decks. Got up to 9 in a row yesterday. The "bug" comes and goes and when active makes winning or even having a competitive match completely impossible.
Is there a certain number of times I have to lose before the game returns to normal? Is it a dollar value I have to spend? Can I just concede a certain number of games in a row to get out of Auto-Loss mode?
EDIT: Five losses in a row with Gates today. Played Golgari Adventures five times in a row. Opponent got multiple Inkeepers every opening hand, one of which got all 4 of theirs in their top 15 cards. Currently at three more losses in a row with Dimir. Just got out of a match with three Ovens and four Cats on the board. Not sure what's going on with this Auto-Loss bug, but it's horrible.
EDIT 2: Another two losses; streak still going. Two hours without a winnable match. "Working as intended", right?
EDIT 3: Four more god-draw steamrolled losses in a row today with Gates before the streak was broken. Apparently switching to mono-Red was the answer to the curse this time. Will update the next time it happens (probably tomorrow).
EDIT 4: Not in Auto-Loss mode again, but a curious anecdote. I was playing Mono Black without any board wipes and played against two decks where they would've been useful. I added 3 Ritual of Soot and in the very next match I drew 2 in my opening hand, then 2 more on the first mulligan.
The probability of drawing 2 of 3 Rituals in a 60 card deck in the first 7 cards is roughly 3.2%. That happened twice, meaning the overall probability of those events occurring is .1% (3.2% * 3.2%, or rolling a 1000 on a 1000-sided die). I was playing against a Fires deck, so Ritual was of course useless.
If anyone reading this is still on the fence that this game is completely and totally rigged via the shuffler and matchmaking when WoTC wants it to be, you're out of sync with reality and in unadulterated denial.
EDIT 5: Happy New Year! Back in loss mode. 6 in a row this morning with Mono Red and Gates again. No chance to win any of the 6 matches. Even had one person top deck a Krasis and survive on 1 health as I'm land-screwed, then top deck hard-cast a Drakuseth with Rhythm down. Also had a couple "Fires in opening hand, then infinite planeswalker" matches. Fun times.
I'm going to just go down the list of my decks and see which one the matchmaking algorithm fails to counter immediately. Will report back my results.
--Had one more loss with Gates, then a loss with Mono Black, then someone quit on Mono Black so I guess that counts? I'll take it. Well, nevermind. Just got steamrolled by Rakdos Knights, 0% chance of winning no matter the card combination. Guess Auto-Loss is back on the menu!
EDIT 6: So the trick seems to be to change your deck every single match. I've noticed this makes the long strings of losses occur less often. I've still encountered situations where I'm being counter-matched upon trying a deck for a second or third time in a row, i.e. Mono-Red suddenly matched against Orzhov lifelink multiple times in succession, so I think it's best to just switch decks every match; maybe rotate between 5 or 6 decks to be safe.
EDIT 7: Six in a row this morning. First two were land-starves with Mono-Red against Knights and Simic. Switched to Mono-Black, three steamrolls with Knights, and then the fourth being a blatant matchmaking/shuffler loss against Mono-Green. Every single creature in the opponents deck was 3 or less mana. I drew through 30 cards, didn't see one of the three Ritual of Soot's in my deck (~11% chance of that occurring, much less considering the matchup as well).
All just luck of the draw, I'm sure.
--Another fun anecdotal match... opponent got 4 Murderous Riders in their top 12 cards. The recurrence effect makes the probability a little harder to calculate, but it's still ~0.1% chance of that happening. Gee willikers... these "one in a thousand" events sure do happen to me an awful lot.
EDIT 8: Seems I'm back again. Several losses with Mono-Black and Mono-Red. All land floods while my opponent top-decks Questing Beasts and Narsets and Fires. I'll try a few different decks and see if I can break the current streak.
--Still no luck, but yet another .1% chance event... playing with Orzhov Discard and needed a Kaya's Wrath. Had 2 in my deck, didn't get one in 25 cards. Added a third to the deck, then in the very next opening hand drew all 3. I need to start playing the lottery (or the shuffler is as vindictive as the matchmaking
A perfect shuffling code does not exist. Programers are only able to make it as randomly as possible and implement as many random factors such as room-, CPU- temperatures.
The shuffler code must NOT be influenced by stuff like GIVE the player 2-3 LANDS. It should be like in real life with a very SMALL chance that you get a starting hand without any lands or even get land flooded.
I experienced that if you put 25 lands into your deck, you will mostly get 2-4 lands into your starting hand, and I rarely had 7 or no lands.
--> So please stop complaining about "ooh, I had no lands in hand playing my 23-land-deck" and concentrate on demanding a PURE RANDOM SHUFFLE engine!
The matchmaking and the shuffler is ****, play 3 games stucked in 4 lands with 25 in my deck. Play GB just play against GB and RB, play Cauldron Familiar just mirror match and sismic, play sismic just mirror match and counter decks
Playing rakdos aggro with 23 lands (10 swamps, 8 mountains, 4 blood crypt, 1 castle locthwain) first week with this deck everything has been fine last three days i cant have a normal draw, always had only 2 lands mostly swamps or whole game draw only blood crypts, last draw i had in opening hand 3x knight of the ebon legion and 2x swamp how this can be a random draw when all agame i draw some card 3 times once it knight other game its ****** of the rich another game rotting regisaur, this shuffle is everything but not random and for sure its not simulate the real card game. I lost 2 ranks due your broken shuffle the whole game at this stage its unplayable i really wonder why i should buy something in a broken game...
the Bug still remain even after 2 updates
Fire your programmers please. I should've recorded my last 20 games. All of them were really stupid hands with no land draws at all or only land draws....
Happens to me so often. Was playing my gruul deck, has 24 lands. I drew TWELVE lands in a row. This is consistently happening to me where I get NOTHING BUT LAND. Several different decks, different amounts of land. They NEED to fix their stupid automated shuffling system. It's an absolute joke.
