Algorithm Improvement
I'm sure you're getting a lot of complaints about how one-sided your algorithm is not being impartial and often times screwing over players with land draws that should not be happening in a purely random sample - so my complaint can be added to that pile.
But, an idea for changing the algorithm to improve randomization would be having the program assign a number to each card remaining in a deck and pile shuffling the cards into X amount of piles (let's say 6). It can repeat this process Y amount of times then take the middle of the pile and put those cards on top. A better template would be from the card shuffler for poker sets from stores.

I have only gone 1st two times in the last 18 games! It is starting to feel personal. It's bad enough that the algorithm for drawing cards feels stacked against me, but when I am being also made to go second 89 percent of the time, what hope can I possibly have?

You can complain all you want. But there won´t be a change. The fraud you are experiencing here is wanted because it is part of their business idea. You won´t get lucky until you buy something from their shop, then you have a little bit of luck until they decide it is about time you buy something again. Doing this they want you to subconsciously learn that buying is good and not buying leads to frustration. The conman behind this want to maximise their profits, they don´t give a single **** about cour complaints. There is a video on YT that explains Blizzards Hearthstone patent application and how all that works. They are greedy little bastards that aim for the quick money rather than a long lasting customer - relationsship. I´ve been trying to play this FTP for some years, knowing all this already..it was ..well "fun" ? somehow (mostly frustrating). This game is fraud and the company behind ist as as evil as Blizzard and the everygrinning disgusting psychopath Bobby Kotick. The sooner you understand this the better for your own sanity, please believe me that. I would never pay a single cent for this **** because it is a rip-off. Oh and there is this little smiley-minigame in between that asks you how you liked the game - lol. That of course is just a placebo. They want you to believe how much they care lol. That never changed anything and at best it will help them to understand how they can mishandle you even better. If you don´t believe me here is proof : You will almost never get more than 4 cards of land in your opening hand (as long as you have a healthy land/cards relation - about 1/3 land in your deck). Mostly you get 2 nowadays, often enough only 1. Could you possible hold more than that in your starting hand when playing with cards on the table? (hint : the only correct answer here is YES - you can have 6 or 7 lands in your opening hand). That alone should open your eyes.
They control the outcome of the match with the lands. If they want you to lose you will either get no land when you need it or they spam you with land when you need cards to play.
Asking them "to fix the shuffler" is like asking them to cheat on you in a different way. There are plenty of videos/websites out there that explains the idea of "matchmaking" (an euphemism for fraud) and how they control the outcome of matches to make you feel a certain way, please educate yourselves. As soon as a gaming company is using "matchmakers" or algorythms you know its fraud. It is the modern equivalent to the mafia using magnets to drag the metal ball into the right box on the roulette-table. Just that this is even worse. Now I feel a little bit like Jesus - I suffered for you so you don´t have to :D .Just give up on this ****, it´s no good. So many games, so little time... -

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. One of the worst, most frustrating MTG experiences out there.... Arena could be so good but it's depressing how blatantly different it is from real magic.

I am just curious how constantly in a deck of 91 with 40 lands I still have a lack of lands while a person with 270 cards can get the same card when you can only have a max of 4 of one card. I wouldn't say anything but this happens 9 out of 10 games and would like to know what can be done.

The algorithm the devs use to match players is ********. It does not reflect what really table top mtg is at all.
You guys should be ashamed to call yourselves game designers. Maybe this is why you idiots, are stuck designing mobile games. You’re literally the embodiment of the participation trophy generation.

I just played a March of the Machine quick draft where I got paired up against a Mythic ranked player when I am a Gold ranked player. Please explain to me how that is fair? I can understand getting matched with someone who is the lowest tier of the next rank above you but definitely not three ranks above you. I didn't stand a chance to win against them because they are so much more skilled than I am evidenced by their ranking. What is the point of having a ranking system if I am not going to be paired with other players in my rank?

The shuffling algorithm appears to be highly unrealistic. Having dedicated ten years to playing Magic, I have never encountered a scenario where drawing nine lands consecutively seemed probable. It would be greatly appreciated if this aspect could be thoroughly examined and corrected, as it detracts from the meaningful testing of decks.
It is my belief that addressing such an issue is pivotal for ensuring a fair and enjoyable gaming experience. Constructive feedback is vital for the improvement of any platform, and I trust that the development team values the input of dedicated players.
Furthermore, it is my observation that MTG Arena serves primarily as a comprehensive card database, and I would welcome enhancements to its gaming functionality. I offer this feedback with the intention of contributing to the ongoing refinement of MTG Arena, a platform many of us hold dear. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

Please fix the AI Shuffling on this game. It is ridiculous. As you can see by how many games I have lost over and over again, the shuffling is ridiculous and not working properly. I either get all lands in my hand or when I draw, in which by turn 10 I am dead cause I cannot play anything. Or it gives me all high cards, or NO lands and I can't do anything. this is not making this game fun at all when you lose over and over again. the only time I win is if the opponent doesn't play or they concede. I have also witnessed many times i get 4 of the same card in my initial hand. How does this make sense? Please fix your shuffling of this game.

You pour all of your money into a game with an absolute garbage shuffling mechanic. And you've made it painfully obvious the game is pay to play. When my shuffles are bad, I can go buy some gems and all of the sudden I get the best cards in my deck? I've got a suggestion. Why don't you make a game that isn't rigged? Or better yet, hire some people who actually know how to make a proper game.

Up until about 2 weeks ago, I was playing 4 different decks. 2 of these decks would reliably give me a decent mana distribution from 40% mana cards in the deck, the other two would only give me a decent mana distribution about every 3rd or 4th game, with the same 40% mana card count. The main difference between the 2 groups of decks is, the decks that gave me mana were single color, while the decks that didn't like to give me mana are 2 and 3 color decks. I got really tired of losing due to being mana screwed, so I quit playing the 2 color and 3 color decks. Low and behold, after about a week of successfully playing the 2 single color decks, for the last 3 days, I have been mana screwed EVERY SINGLE GAME I have played. Can whichever engineer is in charge of this game's RNG explain that?

The fact that you all make me go second every second game is frickin ridiculous. There’s no way to alternate the turn order and every game i go second and I’m matched up with someone who can win in four turns. Balance your matchmaking a little bit.

Anyone else sick of seeing the exact same cards in your hands? Or seeing the exact same sequence of cards coming out of your opponents hands almost every time? This algorithm makes the game a repetitive bore and its just an obvious joke if you play enough games.

I think there needs to be recoding or major revamping for the coding. I just refitted my deck again I added one land and I got nothing but lands…

Don’t got screen shots: this is more of a suggestion.
Algorithm is obviously an issue everywhere and it’s troubling to deal with. Just today I had lost 20 battles pretty much in a row due to not being able to draw lands or cards types in General. But this is needless to say because it just isn’t lands that are effected in these scenarios, all card types are affected. You’ll start with hands that don’t have any lands so you’ll mulligan and be beaten down by just enchantments or just lands. The algorithm is the issue and always has because this does not happen in paper magic the gathering.
My deck structure consists of 80 cards… before it was 90 due to having more lands then I needed. I removed 10 lands when I had 35… added a few more creatures because 35 lands was to much and all I got was lands on my drawing phases and not enough creatures or any of my enchantments or a mixture of everything. So this didn’t work adding more lands work. Even though I Added a bit more lands and now I’m not getting any lands on my draw phases. I’ll see one land maybe every 5-6 turns. Ok but this is where it gets stupid.
Got 8 enchantments 8 sorceries 6 instances 4 artifacts…. And I see neither of them in any of my draw phases or starting hands with a decent amount of the 30 lands I got: I got 25 creatures 30 lands…. I’ll never see any creatures and just enchantments maybe 1-2 lands for an entire 5 turns.
Ok so let’s try this how about creating a separate table to code in an algorithm for each card type becaus this engine y’all using for algorithm isn’t working. Set each card type or rarity to 50/50 because how I feel about every card type of the pissibility of drawing 1 out of 4 cards in an 70 card deck is like 1/1000th chances of getting it. But when I play against players with 250+ card decks they’ll pull out 4 destroy cards or 6 board wipes cards in row… like a year ago when I played I used to be able to hit mystic ranking with my decks never had issues with algorithm as bad as this. Like that doesn’t make sense how players with more cards in a deck can get board changing situations like that. Other day someone pulled out 4 banishing lights back to back in a 250+ card deck. The odds are so slim and this is consistently happening. I was winning 30-40 games a day now I’m winning 10-11 games a week with this deck….. I’ve literally had to DESTROY my deck nearly just to try and get a well balanced hand or draw phase. Why do I have to do this? I shouldn’t of had to take even 1 card out or add one card in.
I got 3 cultivates and 3 vastwoods and other means to get lands out. Sorceries and what not but I never seem to get them. Where as players with 250 card decks or more will get multiples of cards on their draw phases.

I literally went against decks with 250+ cards 5 times in a row playing my mill deck. This game is designed to make you lose, where is the natural randomness that you would have if you were just playing with real people. There is no way that everytime they would have a deck designed to counter my own, let alone the **** mana drops. I spent hundreds of dollars on this game and I cannot even play my decks without being shat on. I really really hate how Wizard has this and will no longer be supporting them with in- game purchases and hope others will boycott this stupid game too. Make magic fun again ffs!!!

the reviews (written and voted with stars) on steam is negative, and so many websites (facebook, steam, official forum etc.) the majority is negative too.
its rigged for sure (im certain the algorythm is too, but i have no proof, because they refuse to send me my own logs), because this things i mention below are certain ...
bronze can meet mythics anytime - the support confirmed it (!), starter duels/historic brawl never match with the same deck, matchmaking rigged (it takes so many factors, like commander, value and other unknown factors etc.), starting order only in bo3 and not 1 (they make you go more often on the draw than play, according to so many players), and you dont have higher chances to play against those who drafted with you on the same table, thus making really unfair matchups in drafts (now imagine a new player with all this odds stacked against you).
you are so lucky that you dont sell lootboxes, else you have to submit the % of everything to the european union due to gacha rules. ive asked for my logs to have some proofs, but they refused it.

Can you please just remove the match making altogether. Just make it RNG who you play against! I am so sick of playing against the same 5 deck types. Then I switch decks and I play againt 5 different deck types, but they are consistent for each of the decks. JUST MAKE IT RANDOM PLEASE!

What you're describing is variance and proof that the shuffler is, in fact, working correctly. Sometimes you draw more, sometimes you draw less. You have a much higher chance of flooding or getting screwed than you do of seeing a perfectly weaved land base every 3 cards.
