Product Suggestion Leave Historic Alone
With the new Alchemy format, can we please have it separated from Historic? You are going to be nerfing cards considering the standard environment, please leave them alone for Historic decks.

Looks like WotC is no longer about the players...

Remove alchemy cards and alchemy changed cards from historic. They make the game annoying and unfun because alchemy cards don't have any answers. You can't counter a draft or play an artifact that turns off seek abilities. These are awful mechanics that make the game only have combos and over powered.

Please seperate alchemy from historic. Also allow the origional versions of cards to be player or ban them.

It has been a year now, and while I've been able to play explorer for 6 months, there is no explorer brawl. There is only historic brawl which is infected with alchemy ********.
I have not spent a single penny on any magic product for a year now.
Want to make it 2 years? -

Please allow Historic to remain a eternal format that is at parity with the Physical printed Cards.
It's not fun playing with a card that only exists online and cannot be played with in real life.

Please remove alchemy from historic, is a pain to play as a casual player (on arena), as I know what the printed card does but is a completely different card on arena. Please remove the fake cards from historic

Alchemy is such a failure of trashy untested wannabe other game mechanics that do not belong in MTG at all. They do not work well with the existing cards and have completely ruined Historic. Here we are literally a year later and we have yet to see Wizards actually remove these piles of trash from Arena or at least from Historic despite every single historic player asking them to. Meanwhile the client and economy suffer.
Alchemy is just ruining the game and these sleeze bags at WOTC and Hasbro are so ******* greedy and dumb they refuse to admit a mistake and remove alchemy or at least release historic from its gross grip.
Whoever is designing the trash alchemy cards should have been fired long long ago but we continue to see the same garbage thrown at us with a price tag regardless.

I refuse to use Alchemy cards in Historic. Alchemy is cancerous cash grab, with stolen mechanics from Hearthstone, and is purely meant to attract Hearthstone's dying player base. The same abilities they are adding into Historic, is what killed Hearthstone. If you wanna swipe players from a dying game, sure, whatever, I guess I get that... but force them to circle jerk about this bad, unbalanced, cancerous, gameplay they for some reason enjoy, way, way away from me.

The whole concept of Alchemy cards being allowed in other formats besides Alchemy makes other game play not enjoyable. If someone wants to use Alchemy cards then it should only be in the Alchemy format. The whole Alchemy concept is idiotic at best moronic at worst. Formats outside Alchemy should be kept pure to the printed cards.

So Explorer is the format when I can play eternal paper magic. Great!
I can't play the Historic Anthology cards that I want to in that format.
Spent loads on them.
THIS is why I haven't bought any more of your anthology card sets, and nor will I in the future.
Get this Alchemy **** OUT of here! Stop nerfing stuff.
You've pretty much made it so it is not worth paying for anything.
As soon as I come up against an Alchemy deck in Historic, I ALT F4.
I bet that's a pain for the other player, but quite frankly I don't care at all.WHEN WILL YOU LEARN?
WHEN WILL YOU LISTEN?I wish I could just take a big **** on your desk.

I cannot agree more. It stink having Alchemy in history. Playing explorer instead but well, dont have all the nice cards i could buy and play with.

I fully support the idea. Although i do not like the Alchemy set, there might be people enjoying it just fine. Maybe having Alchemy be a specialized version of Historic would be a solution. I'd like to use Historic Brawl as a playground to test out the deck I prepare IRL but let's say having all of the Alchemy mechanics IRL is not quite doable and facing people using them does not provide a realistic feedback for such practice.
please do consider the idea.

This suggestion has garnered almost 2k votes and surely between Important to Critical urgency since it was posted by the end of last year. A lot will agree that Alchemy was been one of the worst decisions WotC has made in recent times, if not the worst. And a part of me agrees as, arguably, this takes away from finally putting Pioneer into Arena and making Historic more intriguing with newer cards to make the metagame exciting. As much as I also agree that it has been a horrendous endeavor to try and actually force Alchemy down our throats, with a few consecutive Alchemy events and even its own Mastery Pass, I do (try to) understand the reasoning behind their choice. The few times I played Alchemy it was indeed fun and I enjoyed a bit. There is an audience out there for the format.
Historic in itself is not just a format but it has a meaning in its name. Players get to play with history and experience history in digital form, to feel what it's like using these cards that made history. But with Alchemy added to the mix, then it sets a precedent that ruins entirely the essence of the format. This has already happened with the "rebalancing" of Unholy Heat and Dragon's Rage Channeler. Both cards are now major players in the formats that already play them. But those very cards getting rebalanced feels...dirty. Wrong. Granted the rebalanced versions of those cards should have been what they are from the very beginning, especially Unholy Heat as red should NEVER have a card that easily and very efficiently takes out a large creature, for only 1 red mana. But, I digress.
I may just be spewing words onto a brick wall and beating a dead horse at the same time at this point. But as a fan who loves MTG very much, it hurts.
And if anything, if Alchemy is about rebalancing/changing cards, banning Grinning Ignus completely spits on this aspect. So...what's the point then.

Please just keep alchemy cards out of historic all together. I want a legacy format without all these made up cards.

I concur. Give us a historic format without alchemy cards. Better yet, implement commander fully.

I do like the idea of rebalancing cards for Alchemy, but it definitely should not affect historic. The power level and meta with its combos is completely different. Also the nerfs and buffs seem to be based on standard, and not actual alchemy meta, where 50% of people play the same broken alch-only rares.

They DO NOT CARE. There are enough morons with money to keep the cash flowing indefinitely, so they do not need to change the crooked rigged corrupt way they do business. I do not spend a cent on anything Hasbro. That is the only real method of voicing my displeasure.

It honestly makes no sense, Wizards is lose-losing from situations like these.
They create these new formats without even fixing their old/current ones, expecting players to just hop on to the new formats and forget about staples like real legacy formats. It's just sad People just can't understand that new *isn't* always better.I mean who tf even plays Baldur's Gate?? 3's *still* not in 1.0
