Alchemy makes me not want to play MTGA at all I see this issue that you are trying to address but this not the right way to do so. I want to play magic not hearthstone, this just feels bad it feels like a betrayal of magic at its core and it make me concern about investing in arena at all if this is the direction your going in.
Standard get stale fast its a real issue. Instead of corrupting the integrity of the game with digital only mechanics and buffs and nerfs truing the game into magic light may i suggest a "flux" game mode.
In "flux" ever 6 weeks or so a number of the most popular meta cards would be rotated out giving other cards time to shine. Additionally old MAGIC cards would be rotated in or maybe preview cards from a new set. you could craft them or buy them in a pack like historic anthology or packs i guess. Some of the cards could be limited time classics like Counter spell or lighting bolt that turn into wild cards at the next flux rotation.
This would give you a fresh format while not fundamental dismantling what magic is. I want to play the game i grew up if i wanted to play a digital card game id go back to hearthstone.
Nothing exist in a vacuum it's existence will have an effect on standard and not to mention destroying historic. I real hope you change chorus if not i wont be playing any longer witch make me sad.

Good day viewers.. I have been trying to win the lottery for some years now but I have not been lucky enough to win a dime. In search of assistance on how I can at least be a winner of any lottery, I found out about Dr Amber who has been helpful with his winning numbers he gets through his spells to help people win the lottery. I got in touch with him to know how I can win the lottery and he told me everything I needed to know and do before the spell can be done for me and I acknowledge it. He prepared the spell for me and gave me the winning numbers to play and instructed me what to do as I played the jackpot lottery. I did as he instructed and after a week, I decided to check if I was lucky enough to be among the winners. I screamed out in Joy immediately I saw my ticket numbers as the winner of $393 million dollars. I’m so grateful and appreciative to Dr Amber for helping me. You can reach him on WA +12096910783 or call +13183065044 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org for any help.

I have seen and experienced the reason why people call Dr Amber a God on Earth. I never believed that men like him existed. I contacted Dr Amber for help on how to win a lottery mega millions after reading different testimonies on the internet on how he gives lottery winning numbers to people to play and they won. He responded and said that he will cast a spell to get my winning numbers for the lottery. I provided his requirements as he instructed. After casting the spell he gave me some numbers and a lottery website where I was destined to win. I played the lottery as he instructed and after 4 days I heard that there was a winner and I had to check for mine and I discovered I was the winner of Two Million Dollars. This man has made my life beautiful with his lottery winning number. I have made a vow to myself that I will testify of his miraculous work. If you need his help, call +13183065044 or WA +12096910783 or email, email@example.com
I agree with many comments below, Alchemy has ruined Arena for me. I used to love to play Historic and learn from other players and how they used different mechanics in ways I hadn't thought of. Now I see an alchemy card come out from an opponent and I don't even want to play anymore because I know all the ridiculous mechanics like perpetual, and unstoppable combos are coming...... sorry this doesn't make it fun or more balanced, it makes it BORING and a waste of time. Until Alchemy is removed or there is another format I can play like Historic without those cards, I'm out.
Whenever I play another individual on MTGA, if they play an alchemy card, then in my opinion, it's essentially "cheating" - if WotC wants to introduce alchemy, and keep MTGA alive and well, then I think for their "commander" format, they need to ban alchemy cards from the "commander" format (aka, historical brawl). In my opinion, alchemy has horrendously impacted the game. Because prior, as I play against players, if I see a cool card being played on MTGA, I used to write it down, and then go to my Local Game Store, and try to find it (or find it on the internet if not there) - but with alchemy..... wtf??.... it just majorly hurts the paper format and the digital format. because I only want to play decks that I could possible play against with a real person. MTGA is great for deck building and deck testing, but when it comes down to it, until MTGA introduces true commander, other options will be the preferred option. MTGA has the option of A) getting rid of cards that don't exist in real life, and B) upgrading MTGA to involve 4 player games (like SpellTable)

Alchemy 'balance' is a poor substitute for actually balancing the game before cards are printed (heard of playtesting?) - printing the most intense run of over powered and banned cards in Magic's history (Oko, Golos, field, lurus etc) should have been a wake-up call to curb the power creep and bannable format breakers, and to prioritise format health over money, but instead we now have alchemy as a pathetic and clumsy post-printing 'fix' strategy which undermines the paper-based traditions of the game. Chasing MTGA digital play as the front of the game is sure to find success short term, but this game's incredible longevity has always relied on steady balance and care that was once reserved for paper. I miss 3 block sets, when master sets were not thinly veiled commander sets, when every set didn't have a card spiking into vintage or inorganically pandering to commander -Magic has sold out.
Alchemy are so annoying. Instead of "rebalanceing" most Alchemy cards make a game unbalanced. Stop doing it and remove them from Arena. As long as they are activ... The more i dont want to play
Please wotc remove Alchemy from historic, it ruins the game for me. Just not fun. Make it so that it is a separate thing, that we can play if we want to play with broken mechanics and cards.
I hate how Alchemy doesn't just "break the color pie" but often allows decks to play cards without having to have access to the colors at all. Having a mono-blue deck Swords to Plowshares your Inferno of the Star Mounts or just stumble into a win on the back of Approach of the Second Sun is just complete trash. And even though a lot of people don't want to admit it, most of these changes benefit Blue/x decks more often than not, further increasing the power level of Blue over the rest of the colors. An imbalance in Magic that desperately needs to be addressed. How many Time Warps have we seen in the wake of Alchemy's release?
Also, the "perpetual" buffs on cards are absolutely awful. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that Alchemy is trash. It is bad for the game.
The fact that we don't have the option of playing with the real version of a card AND are forced to play against the alchemy versions is pretty stupid. Some pretty good cards get better and others get way worse. I get one day a week to play paper and wanted to get some games in but once I see the difference in the cards I'm using it wrecks the whole experience.
I'm glad people mention Hearthstone as a comparison. MTGA had a leg up over Hearthstone because it was the well-balanced Paper game I remember in school, but this Alchemy change is making me want to go back to Hearthstone instead since MTGA now feels like a poor knockoff of Hearthstone.

Just make this horrible hearthstone style archetype it's own area. All the perpetual cards are way too powerful for this game and things that happen multiple times with this mechanic are even more broken. I honestly hate this unwarranted change because now everything has to be a power card. Might as well go back to the WoTS days and throw nothing but walkers and land in.......
Alchemy would be more worthwhile for me to play if a certain percentage of decks were required to be actual Alchemy cards. Playing against standard decks with zero Alchemy cards is stale and boring! I'd say put the required percentage at 30 percent.
This is the worst. I've been playing historic brawl since the world championships because standard has been so busted. Instead of banning Alrond's Epiphany and Blizzard Brawl which a lot of people were begging for they made this! Now Historic has a bunch of untested cards you can never use in paper running around. It's bad because you aren't playing real Magic and the cards are untested and unwelcome. At first when I downloaded the update I was hopeful because I saw three broad catalogories, standard, alchemy, historic. I couldn't believe it when my opponent was using alchemy cards in a historic game. I really don't want to play this anymore
If the point was a more balanced game they failed hard. Some of the new cards are so much better than the ones they're nerfing. Didn't wanna think it's a cash grab, but it seems to be. Just a way to add OP gotta have cards more often. This could be RIP for mtga for me. Just terrible. I'm embarrassed I was trying to defend this to my friends.
