phases not working
I cannot press "L" and have the phases show up, nor can I go into setting and select "show phases" and have it stick. As soon as I exit settings it deselects the button.

Nice to see a fix for Windows 10--anything for macOS? Related to account swapping, I did get logged out due to disconnection and had to log back in before the issue began; perhaps switching the account isn't the issue, but rather, logging out then back in, generally.

I can confirm that NotSwiss's registry edit fix below also worked perfectly to fix this issue for me on Windows 10. I personally had to search through about 6 keys with the 'ShowPhaseLadder' name, but only one of them had the '3' value in error.
I can also back up other reports that this is definitely caused by swapping between accounts because I do so regularly and it's fine as long as I stick to one account but glitches every time I change. This may be only a problem for people also running overlays like UntappedGG ( I run several). As soon as I sign into a new account the problem comes back, but it's always fixed by changing the registry value again from a 3 to a 1 or 2.
Thanks for the fix NotSwiss. I can't believe you worked this out! I'll repost their fix here for visibility.

I think I solved the issue for my machine (Win10). It's related to the registry keys set by MTGA, you need to follow these steps:1. Open Registry Key Editor (Win Key + R -> type 'regedit' -> enter)
2. Navigate to "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Wizards Of The Coast\MTGA"
3. Search for a key with "ShowPhaseLadder" in the name. It should be something like "BUNCHOFCAPITALCHARS.ShowPhaseLadder", not sure if it's the same for everyone.
4. Set it to 1In my case, this flag was set to "3" which should be impossible, since it's supposed to be a binary value."

I have noticed that this happens to me when switching accounts. When I first log in, my phases are working correctly. After logging out and logging in with a different account, I have the following symptoms:
- Phase icons do not show up during a game.
- "Show Phases [L]" shows in the UI, but pressing L does nothing.
- The "Show Phases" checkbox in Gameplay Settings does not stick. I cannot get it to stay checked when I reload Gameplay Settings. This prevents me from being able to set stops, which is very important for some decks.

I think this started for me around the same time it did for OP, although I only noticed it around the start of Kamigawa. Also my partner is having the exact same issues on a different PC. Obviously both running Windows version.
In reply to NotSwiss' question, I am running UntappedGG, but only on one PC.

I am also experiencing this problem, but only on my pc. It shows the phases if I use the app on my android phone. On my phone though it sometimes has a problem loading the buttons "no attacks" and "all attacks" for the attack phase. It is frustrating that this isn't working on my pc because I have been trying to play a card, "closing statement" at my end step for less mana and I can't because I can't make it stop on my end step.

I am having the same issue, this is very annoing. So, there is no answer for this bug and tech support just ignoring this thread?

I have the same issue. Is any of you guys using 3rd party apps like 17lands or untapped? Hard to imagine this being their fault but I'm trying to investigate the cause. It would also help to know if there is a settings file locally to modify in order to solve the issue.

Same for me. It does not depend on the account, but on the computer. On two of my computers it is not working on the others it does.

This is also happening to me. I cannot keep the phases on. Pressing L does nothing. In the gameplay settings, I check the box to show phases, but it immediately unchecks itself when I leave the screen.
