Same, menus are fine. As soon as a match starts, the application starts to lag, skipping frames and creates a VERY bad game play experience.

Same here. OSX12.4. Menus are fine, but as soon as the game scene loads the game grinds to an extremly poor framerate with very laggy input.
It's been like this since sometime in June, so its almost certainly related to a recent game update

Game is still very laggy and unplayable. I'm imagining that we wont get a fix until the update when the Baldurs Gate set comes out. Not making any purchases until this is corrected.... which is sad as I was considering getting the preorder.

Alright I'm done with this game until they fix this. It's unplayable in this state and Wizards can't even bother to spend 15 minutes to leave a single reply that they're aware of the issue or looking into it.

Respect to Wizards of the Coast - a whole month without acknowledging the issue is some impressive fanbase ignoring.

This issue has gotten worse since the latest update on 6/23. Client becomes unresponsive and needs to be closed/reopened in order to get functionality back.

Any updates?

After the update on June 23rd, MTGA become even more laggy on my Macbook Pro 2018. It runs like 5 FPS, almost unplayable.

I wrote a Haiku:
Mac client broken
Not mad, just disappointed
Just kidding I’m mad -

This is just shocking that the client is unusable on an entire platform, and it's not important enough to them to even acknowledge it

Still broken after the patch.

Me also. Game ran perfectly fine on minimum settings since release, now it's laggy and pretty much unplayable unless I'm feeling really patient.

Still waiting for WotC to care about my demographics :(

I'm having the same issue.
After the 6/2 update, I had to dramatically reduce the resolution just to make it function - and it still lags. Please fix this.

Wow. Still a lagging, unplayable mess on MacOS after today's update.
Unreal that nothings been done or communicated in the three weeks since the 6/2 patch broke the game.
This is actually worse than Blizzard. -

The 2022.16.50 release has still not addressed or solved this performance issue.
To test, play with an animated sleeve on your deck against Sparky. The SNC family sleeves with the parallax wave, the nation flags with the parallax wave, or the Mu Yanling animated sleeves are especially bad and make the game unplayable. There are animated sleeves which aren't as bad as those, but they still greatly impact the client's performance.
Play another games against Sparky, in the queue, or the ladder without sleeves or a static image sleeve and at least on my Mac (MacBook Pro 2019, 2.3 GHz 8-core, 32 GB ram 2400 MHz DDR4), the game is mostly playable (unless your opponent has one of the animated sleeves mentioned above).
