It's been eleven days after the update and the game is still a laggy, unplayable mess on Mac. It's really unacceptable. I'm trying to switch over to Arena (love the game) from Hearthstone, but even loathed Blizzard has a better Mac client. HS runs beautifully. Then we're regulated to playing on iPads/phones where image quality is substandard. Has WotC even acknowledged this issue? I've tried the animated sleeve suggestion and it's bad, against Sparky too. She was crying.

I agree with TheySeeMeDurdling#07930 , the issue is much worse when one of the players has animated sleeves/pets

I think I have a solid theory as to what's happening with poor performance on Mac.
Inspired by a post this morning in the Arena subreddit about certain sleeves causing in-game performance issues, I devised some tests.
I played several games with and without animated sleeves. And it didn't matter the animated sleeve, just as long as I had a sleeve with an animation on my deck, my in-game performance was awful. When I played a game without sleeves or a sleeve with a static picture, the performance was great and very playable. I'm also keeping my graphics quality level at low for the time being.
I played some games in the Historic Brawl queue with static sleeves on my cards until I played against an opponent with animated sleeves. And the performance decreased. It's not unplayable, but still very bad.
My guess is that the process that renders the sleeves in game is bugged or is running away with system resources. I think this is the case because Arena runs very well right until you see the "vs" screen and the match begins.
You can even test this against Sparky. I found the same results there. Nearly unplayable with animated sleeves and normal performance without animated sleeves. My advice for the time being is to play without animated sleeves as you'll likely get a performant client if your opponent is also not using animated sleeves.

Having the same issue - I've lowered the resolution, and set the quality to low, and I can still only play decks that don't have cards from the Alchemy: New Capenna in them. Still slower than it should be, but at least my older decks are playable. Crazy, because opponents can have the new cards, and it doesn't make the game stutter, but if the cards are in my deck, it's stutters and lags too much to play.

They still not have fixed this? How is possible after an entire week?

Unplayable after update. Deck builder and every aspect is perfectly fine but once in a match it's impossible to play.

Glad to see I'm not alone with this issue. The gameplay is still super laggy. Everything else seems to run smooth until I'm in an actual match. How has this not been addressed yet? Makes me want to go back to MTGO lol.

Still awful FPS during matches. Today's update did nothing. Please fix. The 6/2 update caused this issue.

Still no fix as of today's update, it's getting ridiculous.

Extremely disappointing that its been over a week with no fix for this. Again, the menus/deck builder, etc run smooth, but once you get into a match (even against AI) it's a chugging low FPS disaster. Pretty much unplayable. Playing on a 2019 iMac. Never had this issue before the last patch. This needs to be addressed. Mac gamers are people too.

At this point it's been five days of this issue with no response from Wizards. This is absolutely unacceptable for a company of this size. If this isn't resolved by tomorrow I'm going to request a refund on GooglePlay for everything I've spent this expansion.

Impossible to play correctly after 02.06 patch, to much lag and fps drop down the acceptable during each match. Looks like Mac gamers are treated like a B League players here on Mtg Arena.

It might also be worth considering, in future updates, a "reduced animations" toggle; I enjoy the flashiness on my desktop, but it's pretty ******* battery life on a laptop or mobile device.
