I aborted MTG Arena while it was downloading the newest update (to modify Alchemy cards and other things) yesterday (8/12/22) because I needed to go somewhere all of a sudden. Today I tried to start it up and it got stuck on "Loading card database." This persisted even after uninstalling the game from the Epic Games launder and restarting my computer. I have a 2017 MacBook Air running macOS Montrey Version 12.5. I also checked out the library suggestion I saw on another post but I didn't have the library files mentioned. I play Arena almost every day, spend a fair amount of money on it, and am currently doing well on the constructed ladder. I would really like to be able to get back to playing.

MTG arena still gets stuck at "loading card database" after the 8/1/22 patch.
I'm running Windows 10 pro, version 21H1 os build 19043.1826 Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0
My laptop is an HP elite book 64 bit processor intel core i7-3667U, 4.00GB(3.87GB usable RAM). Like others it's been like this since at least the July 28th i think. -

Here the fix or at least it worked to me (copied from support mail):
Open Epic Launcher
Go to Library -> click the three dots under the MTGA game -> Uninstall
This does basically nothing except for remove the game so you can install it properly later.
Close Epic Launcher
Go to your User folder in Finder -> Library -> Caches -> Find the folder named "com.epicgames.EpicGamesLauncher" and remove this folder
Go back to the Library folder
Open the folder called Application Support -> Ensure that the folder named "com.wizards.mtga" is not in this folder, if it is, remove it.
Open Epic Launcher -> Library -> It will show that you cannot do anything with the game and you will need to click the three dots and select "go to application page" or whatever it is named.
There it will say that you already own the game, click the "owned game" button -> This will take you back to the Library and now your game has the "Install" icon, click it, download the ~4gb of game data -

Hi, there are several of us with the same problem. Until now, there is no workaround to fix the problem. If you find something that helps to fix it, please, share it. Thanks!

Just so everyone waiting for them to do something about this issue is aware. I've raised a log with Wizards of the Coast support about it. So far I have had 3 different copy and pasted responses that didn't address the issue in the slightest.
Despite my telling them it was an Intel Mac laptop I was using in all of my comments on the ticket, the latest response I got gave instructions on how to do something first for a Windows PC and then for an iOS mobile device. Nothing about Intel Macs at all.
I have emailed them back again. But I'm not sure if they're reading them, or if a bot is just doing keyword searches and churning out auto responses.
