I found a quick work-around:
just disable MUSIC, VOICE and AMBIENCE in the audio options, leaving SFX as ony sound.
seems to work for me ...

This is STILL an issue and it's getting old. Windows 11 PC.

Same issue here on Windows/ Desktop.

Game sounds (all) start disappearing as you keep playing the game until there is no sound at all.

This started with the last couple of updates.

same here. seems to be a memory leak in (most likely mutithreaded) sound ouput (maybe not correctly releasing a handle to multimedia interface)...

Sounds stopped working only after the latest update. Major issue please prioritise fixing this! Thank you.

When playing 3-5 matchs the sound stop working. The game seem normal except I have to restart the game because of the sound that is missing during gameplay.

I have this problem now too. I have been playing MTG Arena for a long time and never had this problem. It is really detrimental to the joy of playing the game. Whilst playing game the sound effects gradually drain away until you sometimes have no sound at all. Usually only the background ambience sounds are left. Re-starting the game solves problem for a little while until it happens again.

why no message on mtga status-page about the loosing-audio-problem? it is lasting for days now. regards & I love your game even without sound

I Garuntee its not my $5,000 alienware laptop, but past few days sound would cut in an out while playing and would be fixed for a few after game was reset, now today after update no sound at all....nothing.

As of the last update to arena (7/07/2022 ), I am losing sound while in a match. It just slowly goes away. when I am at the main screen, the sound is fine. also, the sound is fine for anything else I use on the pc. I am running windows 8.1. with 8 gb memory. I even reinstalled the game with no results.

Bump. Sound decreases over time until there is no sound left. Makes the game feel much less engaging. Logs won't help much but they are attached anyway.

My sound in the match starts out fine and then slowly different sound effects will disappear or mute until, if the game goes on long enough, there is no sound.

All goes fine and during a game more the time passed more the sound begins to decrease.
And a few time after no any more sound...

This happens within the first 3-4 matches played at any given point. A restart fixes it temporarily but 3-4 matches afterwards it occurs again.

The commenter below I think is correct with it happening after big plays(board wipes, etc).

it happens when big plays or multiple plays are made on same turn then have to restart app to make it work

Same issue is happening to me. About mid match my attack sounds disappear, the music dies out, and cards stop playing their ETB sound effects. Only started happening after the latest update. This occurs during all matches whether ranked or not.
