Mac: Stuck on "Initializing localization database". Can't access the game
After 21 Jul update can't access the game.
It's stuck on "Initializing localization database" status
Details:
macOS Monterey 12.4
Radeon Pro 570X 4 GB
Steps:
Try to start the app via Epic games store or via shortcut
Expected result:
Enter the game and see main menu or login form
Actual results:
Infinite loading of "Initializing localization database"
What I tried and it didn't work:
1. Reset wi-fi router
2. Use mobile internet
3. Use VPN
4. Delete the game via Epic games and reinstall it in the same folder
5. Delete the game manually removing the folder, delete the epic games app and reinstall it
6. Reinstall MTGA in different folder

I have found a solution that worked for this issue for me
1. go to Epic and Uninstall the application
2 close out of Epic
3. open finder and go to /users/*your username*/library and send the folder com.wizards.mtga to the trash
4. go to the folder /users/shared/Epic Games/ and send the folder MagicTheGathering to the trash
5. restart is probably safe, I didn't do this as well as emptying the trash
6. launch Epic go to library and reinstall
7. Launch MtG:A it should start to download the 6+ gb database again. From what I can tell from looking at the logs is that somewhere along the lines the db size does not match what has been programed and because of this corruption it hangs on loading the database.
WotC said that it was an Epic issue and Epic couldn't give me the information that I needed either.MacOS Monterey
version 12.6
tested and working on my m1 not more than 30 minutes ago. -

I was just told by WotC support to contact epic for this same issue.
I have tried reinstalling the game and it appears that the database is not cleared during the reinstallation and my assumption is that the database is corrupted.
I have been hunting for the database and striking out so I have a ticket out to Epic support to see if they can help locate that database.
I could rebuild my OS, it seems like a lot of work just to fix one game. -
