Maestros Ascendancy not working properly with Flashback mechanic
Today I experienced a bug while using Siphon Insight for its Flashback cost, with two Maestros Ascendancy permanents on my board. I resulted in my whole turn being skipped, I could not play any cards and my spell (Siphon Insight), despite it looked like it was put on the stack, never resolved. The only action available for me during this process was skipping to my combat step, and then end of turn (with Siphon Insight still put on the stack unresolved).
The following steps resulted in a bug for me:
- My board state consisted of 2 copies of Maestros Ascendancy and Ghoulish Procession.
- I had no cards in hand
- I attempted to play Siphon Insight from my graveyard, which prompted me to choose whether I play it with "Maestros Ascendancy" (this one was greyed out, since I had no creatures to sacrifice therefore not meeting the conditions to use it) or with "Flashback". I chose "Flashback".
- The result I got was the game asking me to choose the exact permanent of Maestros Ascendancy I am using to cast - despite my declaration I am casting the spell with Flashback, and NOT Ascendancy
- Despite realizing I am encountering a bug already, I chose one of the Ascendancies (as the prompt asked me to). Then I chose the target for Siphon Insight (the other player), and this action put my Siphon Insight on the stack
- The stack did not seem to resolve. I only got shown a button saying "To Combat", which I clicked. Then it was followed by "End Turn". During this whole time a Siphon Insight card was still on the stack. I never resolved, and I could not play anything else during my turn.
I am playing on a PC, Windows 10. The bug happened about half an hour ago.
Expected result:
I expected Siphon Insight card I cast from graveyard to be cast with its Flashback cost, as I chose when prompted.
Actual result:
Choosing "Cast for Flashback" prompts me to pick a Maestros Ascendancy permanent I would like to use to cast the Siphon Insight - as if I picked "Cast with Maestros Ascendancy", which I could not have even picked (it was greyed out, I could not meet conditions for it, since I had not had a creature on board).
I did not manage to save a screenshot of this, nor a workaround.
I also want to point out that whenever "Cast with Flashback" already prompted me to choose the Ascendancy, I cancelled my action just to make sure I am really picking "Flashback" as the mechanic I am using to cast. Only after I realized the game is leaving me no choice but to play along with the bug, I proceeded with the events I described.
