Phyrexian Vindicator vs. Mechanized Warfare
I have a mech warfare in play and my oponent has a phyrexian vindicator. I cast end the festivities, trigger the vindicator. My opponent gets to assign 2 damage to any target. Vindicator says explicitly "prevent that damage." For rules purposes, a damage spell that deals zero damage (like a fireball where x=0) is not considered to have dealt damage, meaning that it will not recieve the +1 modification provided by mech warfare. Perhaps I'm missing some rules quirk about the order in which the replacement effects are applied, but it seems like the vindicator is having its cake and eating it too.

No, I get that vindicator prevents the one damage and then assigns one damage. My point is that the damage to the vindicator can not be MODIFIED because in this instance, damage will already have been prevented. And I dont get how, as you say, "vindicator would never deal any damge." That makes no sense to me, so if that's what you took away, then Im sorry for not explaining the scenario better, but with multiple replacement efffects it gets a little convoluted. I suppose the way it works on arena would be correct if you specifically applied the MW effect first, so that ETF tries to deal damage, then that damage tries to increase, then it gets prevented. I was expecting a judge-level answer involving the order the permanents were placed on the battlefield or who is the active player when the spell was cast, not "if it worked the way you want magic would be bad."

Phyrexian Vindicator prevents damage that would be dealt to it, then gets to deal that much damage to any target. If it worked the way you are suggesting it would never redirect any damage as it is never dealt any damage
