mutavault
Mutavault can't tap for mana once activated. Even though the text says "it is still a land," I am unable to tap it for mana.

This happened several times to me. Activate mutavault block opponent creature, opponent uses removal spell and i try to spell queller with mutavault mana before damage and couldnt.

Lands that are also creatures suffer from summoning sickness if you have not continously controlled them since the begining of your most recent turn. I assume you had just played the Mutavault, and didn't start a turn with it under your control yet.
