Mephidross $lime's Death Trigger has a Very Large Bug!
Hey Dev Team! Got another post here, same issue as I've been posting on - but with yet again more juicy deets!
We've covered how there are various instants that give a creature "When this creature dies, return it to the battlefield tapped with {insert benefit here}", all of which do not result in the "power and toughness are perpetually doubled" portion of Mephidross $lime's death trigger.
Well, I can now add a new card with a slightly different effect to the list! Ashnod's Intervention, which causes a creature who has died to return to your hand after death, also nullifies the same portion of Mephidross $lime's death trigger. That is to say, cast it on the 'dross, watch the 'dross die, and watch it return to your hand without it's power or toughness doubling.
I think it's pretty safe to say that this part of the death trigger is coded to only happen once the 'dross has entered your graveyard, which isn't a requirement in the card's text. I haven't tested it yet, but I'd be really curious to see if this works via milling/discard (I doubt it).
Anywhooooo --- Please fix this bug! I have a deck dedicated to the 'dross, and it's already pretty sound, but imagine how much stronger it'd be if this bug was fixed! My $limes would scale so much faster, saving precious time and turns!
Thank you.
