Stack not resolving
Playing Historic brawl with Augar of agonies as my commander I had 4 health. Opponent had just played Sheoldred at the end of their turn. I had howling mine ( draw an extra card during your upkeep ) on the board so at the beginning of my turn I drew 2 cards which triggered Augar of agonies ability (when you draw a card gain 1 life opponent loses a life for each card drawn)before it resolved Sheoldred abilities was put on top of the stack ( when opponent draws a card they lose 2 life ) sheoldred lose 2 life per card drawn dropped my health to 0 and sheoldred ability resolved from the stack leaving my Augar of Agonies ability of gaining 1 life and opponents lose 1 life per card drawn still in the stack that would have instantly brought me back up too 2 life had it resolved. Both augar and sheoldred are " when triggered." So I'm not sure why sheoldred ability was put on top the stack vs Augar. For instance had sheoldred triggered first but then Augar triggered putting it on top I would have been bumped up to 6 life augar ability resolved then sheoldred abilities would resolve dropping me down to 2 life. I don't know when it started doing that because when I first made the deck I didn't just instant lose for my health hitting 0. In fact there was a time or 2 my health went into the minus but my abilities would resolve and my health was back positive by the end of the stack resolving ending the phase. I could be wrong but I think it's a bug from an update not causing the stack to resolve and the phase to end before checking life at that time.

When multiple triggers controlled by different players have to be put on the stack at the same time, they are put there in APNAP order: first the active player (AP) puts all his triggers on the stack, then the nonactive players (NAP) do the same in turn order. That's why Sheoldred killed you before you could gain life.
And no, the game has worked with players losing for having 0 or less life when there is still stuff on the stack at least since the great 6th edition rules overhaul in 1999. You lose when a check of state based actions sees you at 0 or less life. You can go to and below 0 during the resolution of a spell or ability, but if you are at 0 or less when a spell or ability finished resolving, you are out.
