Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner not being counted as a potential mana source
An opponent cast Bring the Ending to counter my Old Growth Troll. I had an untapped and not sick Elvish Mystic and an unused Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner and zero poison counters. The opponent's Bring the Ending resolved without my ability to interact with the stack.

Kiora is a planeswalker, and the ability you are refering to is a loyalty ability. Loyalty abilities can only be activated any time you could cast a sorcery. Since there is a spell on the stack, that timing is not given.
