Please revert the change to golden packs
The change to golden packs is very disappointing to anyone who doesn't play alchemy or historic. While LTR was the most recent set, it felt excusable that golden packs would include LTR cards, especially as purchasing LTR packs contributed to golden pack progress.
However, now that WOE is the most recent set, and WOE packs are the only ones contributing to golden pack progress, it's really frustrating knowing that I will be "rewarded" for buying standard-legal packs by being given cards that I have zero use for.
The announcement posted today says that the LTR cards will be present to "a lesser degree" than they were when LTR was the most recent set, which is technically true but I believe this downplays how overrepresented these cards will be for those of us who don't play alchemy/historic.
On my main account, I am 215 cards away from being rare-complete among DOM, BRO, ONE, MOM, and MAT, but I am 245 cards away from being rare-complete in LTR.
This means that a third of the cards I would receive from a golden pack are more likely to be a card from the one set that I have no use for whatsoever than a card from any of those 5 sets used in the formats that I actually play.
I understand that people who play alchemy/historic want to receive cards for their formats, but if cards come only from standard-legal sets, these players already are getting cards for their formats. All this change really does is take potentially usable cards away from those of us who have no interest in alchemy or historic.
Golden packs were such a good, player-friendly idea when they were introduced. Please don't ruin them by cutting their value by as much as 33% for standard/explorer-only players.
If you're dead set on having golden packs as an option for collecting alchemy cards, please just make that something players can opt into, i.e., when given a golden pack, you can choose that it be standard-only or that it include LTR.

Agreed. I hate this too. I can't even get all the rares I need to play in Standard before several more sets drop. I was happy when LotR dropped because I didn't have to care - though the golden packs still forced it on me instead of something I actually wanted, but it could have been worse. With this, there's no reason for there to be LotR cards in golden packs any more. None. Let the people who want to play those cursed Alchemy-tainted formats go through the extra effort. Don't force it on everyone. It's bad enough this set won't be impactful enough to change Standard.
