Can’t load direct challenges at all. Which is the main way I usually play on arena. Very frustrating.

Same here, not working after choosing Direct Play, selecting deck, and clicking Play. Spins with "Waiting for Server" until eventually saying "unable to submit deck". Started after latest set update. Has been happening consistently now... can't get a direct play match to work. Please fix. Seems like SRE needs better indicators of system uptime given the status page says "no issues reported".
On Windows 11 playing via Steam. Tried to verify file integrity, restart game, restart PC, change DNS servers... nothing makes it work.

This HAS to be fixed. 99% of the reason I play MTG is to play with my friends. My experience is that the issue happens when I try to submit a deck. The game spins for awhile, tells me "deck could not be submitted, please try again later" and then network errors out on me. This can't be a local thing because it happens on all my platforms regardless of how I try to internet.
Fix. It.

My wife and I cannot challenge each other either thru the friends list or Direct challenge anymore. This all started after the lost caverns of Ixalan update.

I have updated the latest as of November 17, 2023 and this problem has not been corrected!I am very frustrated that I cannot participate in online competitions due to this glitch.

Keep just getting "Network error" and can't start a game with a friend.

my friends and i usually play direct matches daily. Now we can't play each other at all and this issue has been going on for some time, even before the new update. Wizards this needs fixed asap!

Issue still occurring even after last update. Received multiple network errors trying to connect to a friend and was never able to establish a connection after 4 tries.

This problem has been happening to me even before the latest edition. I'm a software engineer and baffled at the lack of respect that an issue this size is to the user base. I have tried every trick in my book to replicate or fix this problem to no avail. This is a core functionality, a strong software requirement without which the software is seriously compromised. It's very unprofessional for a bug this size go so long without being thoroughly fixed. I call out to my fellow players to go to youtube and be more vocal about making our voices heard. This either turns into a PR issue, or it won't get fixed at all.

I've tried direct challenge, I've tried friends list invites, I've tried restarting my game, my pc, logging out and in, I've changed my deck composition, checked for banned cards etc. The list can go on.
Regardless, the same results happen. One of two options happens to either of us:
1. Goes to the "Waiting for Opponent" screen, with my avatar showing, but the other player not showing yet. After about 1-2 minutes, it goes to the battlefield and immediately to a draw.
2. Goes to "Waiting for Server", spins for about 1 minute, then fails and says ""Network Error: Unable to submit deck. Please try again later."". After roughly 30 seconds, another popup comes on the screen and says "Connection Issues" and asks me to reconnect or exit.One of the players gets one or the other. For example, if I experience 1, my friend is experiencing 2. Also, during option 2, when the "Connection issues" popup comes seems to be around the same time that option 1 gets to the Draw screen.
During this same period of time, I have tested and I've had no issues finding matchmaking matches. I really want to play with my friend and I hope you can fix this.

it's still happening. we've tried everything to uninstalling the game, trying out different deck types. nothing seems to work. it's a bummer i can't play with my friends.
