Lands are colorless because they have no mana cost, which is what determines a card's color. Furthermore, Sword of Once and Future gives protection to whatever is equipped with it, but the Sword does not have protection itself. The Sword can be targeted by blue and black spells like normal.

Otawara is colorless, like (almost) all lands. So protection from blue from your Sword of Once and Future does not help against its channel ability.
