Planeswalkers and the issue
I started before Planeswalkers were invented. They are not all bad... but it's totally effected basic play. All upper decks will just be total creature, or board destruction with counter spell back up... and Planeswalkers to finish your opponent. Lack of diversity and lack of other options. Serious flaw. One fix that might work... expensive to cast Planeswalkers. 3 or 4 casting is abusive and wrong. 6 mana and above!! make them "special" to cast. I don't like Planeswalkers that much. ruined the game for me. Or, shift their effects to "world effects", or "Enchant World effects", that effect both and all players. Cards like "Lands Edge" for example.

More and more players will just drop playing cause of this..... Play with Plainswalkers or lose. No land destruction like "Armageddon" for white and "jokulhaups" for red .. make huge casting cards too powerful. You should have to use artifacts and enchantments to get "extra mana". Always thought that was total garbage that Red, the color of destruction had to pay 6 mana to destroy all lands.. and "holy" white had to just pay 4 mana. Bias. Thus the power of the classic "white ******" turbo deck. All 1 or two casting creatures... savanna lion for example... and just hit 4 mana and destroy all lands....over and over. You never get to have over 6 lands on the board. Swords to plowshares vs lightning bolt... now with "doomscar" and a 3rd turn board wipe... it's even worse for "old play".
