Mindswipe & Mindsplice Apparatus bug
I had two Mindsplice Apparatus in play with 6 oil counters on one and 2 oil counters on another, then I cast a Mindswipe in response to counter opponent's spell unless he/she pays 8, as my opponent only have 2 untapped lands available, then nothing happened, his/her spell resolved and my Mindswipe goes directly into my graveyard.
It happened in a couple of games that I played and had access to both spells.

Did you select X = 8 or 0? It sounds like you chose 0 thinking that the cost reduction from Apparatus would make up the 8.
