Freeze and crash of the general client user interface on PC following the September 12 update
Following the September 12 update, the download of the update seems to have gone well. However, the game interface freezes as soon as I try to go to the Packs or the Store pages, or when I try to click on the quest renewal. The game freezes and it's no longer possible to access the menus, even if it's just to close the game. The bug concerns a PC platform.

Still not working after 3 months! Ridiculous that the game's main platform, PC, no longer works, at all. I'm using the same laptop as I did on the original Beta testing of arena, tried all troubleshooting, but this is clearly something WOC have done. It's a critical issue but isn't being fixed, which is honestly a disgrace at this point. Way to support your loyal customers...

Downloaded this a couple of days ago, it worked, played it yesterday it worked but now 'today' (December 9th) everytime I open the game it crashes at the first connecting to server screen, cant even get in to try the changing graphics to medium tip people have been suggesting. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but that didn't work so maybe I just cant play it all.

Well, guys, this last for like 2 months now? I'm still trying and still experiencing crushes of PC Arena. Works fine on iphone. But its a shame. Your flagship digital client, major pioneer release upcoming..
If there is any solution for the game to stop freezing, please let me know. Otherwise, just sad..

is there any real fix for this issue? im running the game on a MacBook Pro 1.4 GHz quad core intel i5
the main screen loads but then freezes at the play screen it will load to there but nothing else
ive tried setting graphics to low, medium etc nothing fixes it ive tried reinstalling both the game and epic games launcher ive tried having no other programs running and even logging out and back into the game
UPDATE not sure why but after whining about his here about 3-4 hours later out of the blue I can play the game again so thanks to whoever suggested the medium setting it seems to have finally worked

Okay folks, I have an update for you PC players that are running Windows 11 64 Pro. This may apply to any PC users running Windows 11. But this is what I found out that stopped my client and trackers from loading. This is the same email response I just sent into MTG Support via email.. Hope this helps!!

So I have great news! I have eliminated what has stopped the client launch and also blocked the Protracker as well as the Overwolf Aetherhub Tracker!
So I am on Windows 11 64bit PRO version. So the feature that needs to be shut off will be the SMB Direct Feature. This is an RDMA filesharing 3.x feature, which I believe has been triggering a halt with having defender and firewalls running.
The MTGA client and the trackers have been properly port forwarded through the firewall, but I feel that this remote file sharing feature is the main cause! I am posting the same results in the community forum!

Haven't been able to use my windows laptop to play for 2 months with exactly this freezing issue. I had settings on low and turning the resolution further down didn't help. What weirdly DID help is setting the graphics setting to medium. Now there are occasional stutters but it doesn't freeze completely anymore.

Same here! In my mac game just freeze when I pass the mouse on icons. If I have luck game decide to work with somo bugs but its unstable.
Tried to reinstall, change video to low quality and no sound. Nothing change...

This freeze is also now occurring on Linux OS with Lutris emulator running on my Ubuntu Linux laptop, but MTGA works fine on my home Ubuntu (same version) desktop server also running under Lutris emulator (same version).
So, My Windows 10 Home OS Build 19045.5011 laptop has this bug, my Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS Linux laptop with Lutris Windows emulator 0.5.17 has this bug, but desktop with Ubuntu 22.0.4.5 LTS Linux and Lutris Windows emulator 0.5.17 does NOT have this bug.
UPDATE: Changing graphics to Medium fixed both Windows and Linux laptops. The desktop was set to Medium the first time I installed it, so never had issue there because I accidentally used the workaround there! LOL!!! -

the game freezes for a few seconds, for example, the loading circle rotates, and then does not die. This can happen both when loading the battle, and in the battle itself. At the moment, I paid 10k gold for the draft and I can not go in.

Even reducing graphics to Low doesn't work for me, although Windows etc. is up to date. Question. Why are WOC so bad at this? I really don't understand how I had a usable game in September and a month later the company hosting it still haven't resolved a critical issue? Why are we all having to work so hard to find workarounds?...

Uninstalling and reinstalling Arena and my drivers did nothing. Switching graphics to medium worked 🤦♂️
