Bug: Ashya, soul of the wild. has a ***** counter on it, and the sludge monster is in play. yet every non-token creature still triggers landfall.

Removing Ashaya's (or Kudo's, or Ygra's) abilities does not stop those abilities to be applied before the loss occurs. This is due to how the layer system works: type changing happens before ability losing.
