Backup effect doesn't stay
Whenever I play Streetwise Negotiator and give the backup ability to Armored Armadillo the +1/+1 counter goes on Armored Armadillo and it gets the effect for the turn. However, the effect seems to go away for some unknown reason after a turn or two. So I really only get a 5 damage for 1 turn, then he's down to just a 2/5 with his own pump ability. Armored Armadillo longer assigns combat damage using it's toughness.

THERE IS NO BUG!!!
Rezzahan already explained it. Abilities granted by backup only last until the end of the turn.

It seems to only last for the turn that I play Streetwise Negotiator, as though it were an End of turn effect. I don't know if it's because of Armored Armadillo's own ability or what, but please fix. I just wanna keep rolling rolling rolling rolling. Like Fred Durst would want.

Of course it doesn't stay, it's a temporary effect that only lasts for the turn.
702.165a Backup is a triggered ability. “Backup N” means “When this creature enters, put N +1/+1
counters on target creature. If that’s another creature, it also gains the non-backup abilities of
this creature printed below this one UNTIL END OF TURN.” Cards with backup have one or more
abilities printed after the backup ability. (Some cards with backup also have abilities printed
before the backup ability.)
