Playing Aetherdrift Draft (3/23) I played a Mindspring Merfolk and couldn't active the exhaust ability
I was playing a round of Quick Draft yesterday. I had more than enough blue and green mana to activate Mindspring Merfolk's exhaust ability but was unable to until the next turn. Mindspring merfolk did not highlight. I tried clicking it regardless to see if the highlight was disabled but I still could not active it. I even tried manually tapping mana but no go.

Mindspring Merfolk's exhaust ability requires it to tap. It is summoning sick the turn it enters, and keeps being sick until you begin a turn with it under your control. So it cannot activate its exhaust ability until then, unless you give it haste.
