Wrong Tarrian’s Soulcleaver interactions
Hello, I’d like to report a bug with the “Tarrian’s Soulcleaver” card I keep running into in brawl. Anytime a token is sacrificed on my end the opponent is gaining the benefits of the card despite those tokens not going to graveyard. I’m not sure if there has been a rule change for tokens in the last year or so, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure from what I remember tokens dying or being sacrificed do not enter the graveyard just like how “luminous broodmoth” doesn’t bring back token creatures when they die. I’ve been running into so many players abusing this card and the bug it’s having with game interactions when it comes to tokens. My last opponent was able to gain 16 +1/+1 counters from me sacrificing 16 treasure tokens despite those tokens not entering graveyard.

Tokens can and o go to any zone where cards can also go if sent there. They just cannot leave that new zone, and cease to exist shortly after arriving as a state based action. So tokens do in fact die. And that is not a recent rules change, but has been the case at least since the 6th edition rules overhaul in 1999, probably even longer.
Luminous Broodmoth cannot return a token that died, because a dead token cannot leave the graveyard, and ceases to exist before the trigger to return it resolves anyway.
