Steps to produce the bug on MTG:Arena
1. Cast "Close Encounter", choosing your creature to determine power and target an opponent's creature.
2. Opponent removes the chosen creature in response to "Close Encounter" on the stack.
3. Close Encounter should still deal damage because it is not the creature dealing damage. However, with the creature removed while it is on the stack, Close Encounter does not deal damage.

Played on PC. It is expected that Close Encounter would deal damage of the chosen creature that should have been locked in the moment it is cast, as it works differently than other fight/bite cards. It did not deal any damage.
