Elenda, Saint of Dusk (Malfunctioning Ability)
My opponent killed me with Elenda and she survived damage from two units that equaled her Defense power. Her menace was activated but the card survived like it had the invulnerable or double strike abilities. This occurred during a Standard 1v1 game.

The life gain from lifelink happens in time to increase Elenda's p/t if the life total threshold is reached for the ability. It increases BEFORE state based actions are checked. And thus the creature survives, because the damage is not lethal when the game checks state based actions.
