Makes it really hard to know accurate life total sometimes. Also very distracting.

Hi, I'd like to chime in here too. This issue has been going on through the last few updates. It's like the hand is too low on the screen and, when recessed, it sits way down at the bottom of the screen beneath the life counter, and when the hand is opened, it's like at the same height where it would normally be recessed.

This is rough. It's like this on every device I've tested (including an Apple Vision Pro, which was otherwise surprisingly fun to play Magic on!)

I'm not seeing this issue listed in known issues, but it's clearly a widely experienced problem.

I’m having the exact same problem on iPad 9th generation with current iOS version 18.6.2. See pic below. This problem started with the most recent MTGA update. Before that it was fine. Can we get a response from Wizards already?! Fix this!!

Same problem and really not fun anymore to play, I keep on tapping on wrong cards and sometimes even am unable to play a card on the left side.
This really is very annoying and first time in 2-3 years really keeps me away from playing this fantastic game.
Never change a running system - well now you did it and it took away all the fun because of bad user experience!
Repair game didn‘t help. Why is it even possible to change such a huge thing as UI behaviour display error in a small update like that…?
Please just let the cards be shown as normal on iPad again!

I have the same problem. I’m on an iPad mini (5th generation) with iOS version18.6. This just started happening on the day the new alchemy set came out (Aug 19 2025). This issue makes it borderline unplayable on the iPad. This problem doesn’t occur on my iPhone (iPhone SE running iOS version 18.5). The app is version 2025.51.0.3061.1174431 on both my iPad and iPhone. I tried the repair game files function on the report a bug page and it did not fix anything. Having arena on my iPad has been a godsend for me as I really love the game. Being unable to play mtg arena due to a bug issue on my iPad has really sucked.
