behavior
To whom it may concern,.
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding unacceptable and hateful conduct by one of your employees, which violates Wizards of the Coast's Code of Conduct and undermines the inclusive community you strive to foster in Magic: The Gathering Arena. On September 11, 2025, I encountered comments made by your employee, who uses the Bluesky handle
@xib.bsky.social, that celebrated and glorified the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, during a speaking event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah—a tragic incident described by authorities as a "political assassination, which I found deeply offensive and promoting violence. This occurred in a public Bluesky post, visible to the broader community. This behavior is utterly unacceptable and must be condemned and punished decisively. Celebrating the death of a person—not just any individual, but a prominent figure whose life was taken in a targeted act of violence—is not only a profound moral failing but also normalizes and incites further acts of hatred and violence in an already polarized society. As a company that promotes fair play and respect through games like Magic: The Gathering, Wizards of the Coast cannot tolerate such conduct from its staff, as it erodes trust and alienates dedicated players. In response to this incident, my friends and I—a group of longtime MTG Arena enthusiasts and attendees of physical events—have decided to completely stop playing MTG Arena and participating in any Wizards-sponsored physical events until this matter is thoroughly investigated and appropriately addressed. we, who contribute to your community through drafts, tournaments, and event spending, and this decision reflects our shared disappointment in the lack of accountability. I request a full investigation into this matter, including appropriate disciplinary action against the employee (such as termination) and confirmation that steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents' I value the MTG Arena community and hope for a swift resolution that restores our faith.
