During a match, Elenda, saint of dusk was destroyed by an instant called tribute to hunger. Elenda has hexproof from instants.

Tribute to hunger reads "Target opponent sacrifices a creature. You gain life equal to that creature's toughness." This spell doesn't target your creature, it targets you and you sacrifice a creature.
