- Opponent casts Shoot the Sheriff on Cactuar
- Cactuar dies but no death trigger from Felonious Rage

Your opponent RESPONDED to your spell. Meaning, the creature died before the delayed trigger from your spell was set up. So of course you wouldn't get a trigger. There is nothing TO trigger. The spell that would set it up fizzled, because its only legal target didn't exist anymore.
