Cancelling Twinmaw Stormbrood as a creature fails.
Tried to cancel Twinmaw Stormbrood when the other player used it as a Creature using Essence Scatter, and it asked me if I really wanted to do it (dunno why, it usually doesn't prompt that). I said yes, and the counter spell failed.
It was clearly being casted as a creature, so it was a creature spell, my Essence Scatter should have worked. My Essence Scatter went to the Graveyard, and his creature was summoned as if nothing happened.
Clearly a bug. It was a creature spell that wasn't correctly countered.

No, clearly there was something that made the spell uncounterable. But casting a counterspell on it nonetheless is still a legal play. Hence Arena making sure, that you wanted to do that. The most likely culprit here is a Cavern of Souls set to Dragon.
