mystic reflection
A player cast their commander, Kefka, Court Mage. I had Mystic Reflection in hand, but I wasn’t given the opportunity to respond to the Kefka spell. I should have been able to cast Mystic Reflection so that Kefka would enter as another creature, but that didn’t happen. It’s worth noting that there were no cards on the battlefield preventing me from casting instants or stopping me from doing so.

Was there a nonlegendary creature to target out? With the amount of legendaries played nowadays, that is not a given.
