Same issue here. During my draft, all cards appeared completely black and unusable. Restarting the client and logging out/in didn’t fix it, which made the draft impossible to play properly.

From other reports, it looks like MTG Arena Assistant may be causing this. Some users mentioned uninstalling it resolved the issue.

Until this bug is fixed, I’ve personally been avoiding drafting altogether and spending time on other casual game mods and community-driven servers just to pass the time. For anyone doing the same, this is one of the sites I checked recently:

unistalling the mtg arena assistant works!

This happend to me as well. Not in a draft (I play Standard) but all cards in all decks appear black. I also reinstalled MTG Arena and i used the "repair gamefiles" function. Nothing helped.
The game is not playable as long this bug persists.

HERE IS THE SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME:
I use MTG Arena Assistant. After uninstalling this software, the "black-cards-bug" was gone.
