Unable to log in / Unable to resolve player inventory
Can't play the game anymore as I just see the message "Unable to log in / unable to resolve player inventory."
Thankfully I didn't spend any real $$ on this game, as I'd be screwed now.
this game is so garbage, network error, unity crash, bugs. i really hope WOTC lose a lot of players to others online card games, so maybe they realize that they need to fix this interely BETA game.
Potential solution for some (there are numerous possible causes for such an issue and this applies only for one of them).
I just went through a series of «Request timeout» and «Unable to resolve player inventory» error messages. After a bit of analysis I found that in my case they were all caused by an overloaded internet connection.
When you launch the game, it sometimes starts downloading data in the background. Usually this is meant to download emergency hotfixes and/or to prefetch data when a game update is coming up. This background download is *NOT* speed-capped, which means that if you have a slower internet connection it can use 100% of your maximum download throughput. This is when you start getting connection timeouts and the likes.
My initial reflex was to close and restart the game, but here's the catch: If the game has not finished downloading the data, restarting the game simply restarts the background download.
The solution (in my case) was simple: let the background download complete. Even after getting a «Request timeout» or «Unable to resolve player inventory» error message, the game keeps on downloading in the background. Just leave the game running, wait for the download to complete and then reconnect. Simple as that.
Here's one way to check when the download completes (applies to all versions of Windows):
- Press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC (all at the same time) -> Task Manager window appears
- Go to the Performance tab
- Click on the graph for your internet connection (usually Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
The graph shows the download throughput over time. When the download finishes, the graph line will drop to 0 (with occasional small spikes).

I have had this issue now too since the new patch. My game worked earlier today.

Yes same issue again today ... Fixed it the first time by uninstalling and re-installing from scratch but that took 2 days(Yes 72 hours) with my slow service provider that often breaks connection because of remote area. I have taken to keeping the installed files seperate and overlay pasting them onto actual files now but that solution is very temporary and does not allow one me back into the store are. This problem is really frustrating for me :(((. Especially during covid-19 lockdown when the game was a lifesaver and something to do while stuck at home. PLease find a fix for this problem which I see I am not the only one to suffer from :))

I am encountering the same issue. Sometimes even before it reaches the point of throwing this error it will throw an "error 14" for the exact same process.

Currently having this same issue. First it was "could not resolve player inventory" and now it's just black screen with cursor - chat window indicates that I'm "offline."
...that or when the ui actually opens it goes to just a black screen with cursor forever.
I'm stuck with this as well and it's really annoying.
I cannot get the game to advance beyond "checking for updates" I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice. This issue has been going on for over 8 hours . What is the problem?

Unable to login properly; when I give my account, or any other account, it says "You're connection with the server has been lost". Any attempt to reconnect results in a black screen.
I was playing a standard ranked game in gold tier and I was casting Dance of the manse. The game froze not allowing me to choose the enchantments from the graveyard. It showed them but I could not click on them. The timer was running out and I tried hitting keys and clicking randomly. I had to force kill the game as nothing else was working. (opened task mgr; kill task). I have done this before and was able to get in on the same game to finish.
This time when I was able to log back in and it pretended I did not play the other game. I say this because I cast several different color spells and the daily rewards was stuck at 0. So i proceed to start another ranked game and it looks like it connects to another game (sit in lobby wait for a few seconds) after it gives me a blank screen and then it kicks me back out to the home screen
