Phyrexian Unlife Bug (Probably with Sword of Feast and Famine)

Player willyst (myself) has 1 point of life with phyrexian unlife on the battlefield.
Player Qua4tre attacks with all creatures and puts player willyst down to -2 life and 7 infect counters.
My suspicion is that the equipped Stoneforged Mystic bypassed the phyrexian unlife like it had "first strike" and then the other creatures dealed infect damage since the life points were below 0.
