If you need to file for reimbursement because your issue impacted a Magic Online event, please fill out our Request Reimbursement  form instead.

Before You Create a New Report


Before you create a new report, please enter the issue in the Issue Title field below to see if your issue has already been reported. It is a good idea to limit this to a few key words, like a card name or specific feature.

Example:  Shivan Dragon (Note: Partial words won’t bring up results, so use Shivan instead of Shiv)

If your issue has been reported already, click the vote button so that we know you've experienced that bug as well. You can also leave a comment if you'd like to add to the conversation about that bug or provide additional information you think might be useful. 

For New Reports


If your bug has NOT been reported, then please update the Issue Title field to represent the problem you encountered.

Example:  Shivan Dragon’s ability doesn’t work

Choose the Category that matches where the problem was.

Use the Describe Your Idea field to describe what happened.  Please use the following format:
  1. Summary of the problem
  2. A list of steps that led to the problem 
  3. The actual result
  4. What you expected or should have happened
Example:  

Shivan Dragon’s firebreathing doesn’t work.  Steps are:

  1. Attack with Shivan Dragon. 
  2. After it is blocked, try to pay 1 R mana to give it +1/+0
  3. Actual: It doesn’t get +1/+0 and stays a 5/5
  4. Expected: It becomes a 6/5
Finally, upload any screenshots or other information you might have that will help us investigate.  If you receive an error message that your attachment did not upload, please check to make sure it is smaller than 50 MB.

  1. Computer freezes at "Loading Initial Scene"

    For the past two weeks, MTG Arena will not open. It sits at "Loading Initial Scene" and will not go further than that.

    This has occurred ever since the Strixhaven update was launched. Do I have to wait until the next set before this program works?

    Or am I permanently locked out of Arena? If I'm permanently locked out, I'd like a refund for the gems I have bought, and for my collection of wildcards.

  3. Mtga direct challenge

    I am not able to play or see my friends on mtga. On my iPhone and iPad I can’t even see my list of friends. On my MacBook, I can see my friends but not challenge then

  5. long time to log in

    after an update on mtgo, there is a long time , hours, to log in, it says there are connection problems, but instead the connection is there and it goes fast for the rest. I have already tried to reinstall

  6. Magic Online "Out of Date" Error Message in Client

    MTGO won't allow sign on saying "out of date version. please close client and restart to downloaded latest version" which is followed and no new version has been downloaded. I've attempted uninstalling and re-installing and still run into the same error while attempting to sign in. I've tried rebooting the computer and the same issue happens.

  8. every player lagging 10-20 seconds each action

    Playing commander, each player is complaining about how there is serious wait time after every action, making games unplayably slow. One player said its been happening for over 10 hours. (right now its 7:11 am pst 4/16/21)

  10. MTGO Game slows down after running for a game or so

    On my desktop PC which is far above the requirements the game slows down dramatically after playing for more than 10 minutes. There is huge lag between taking an action and the game updating.

    This started happening maybe 3 weeks ago.

    I have tried reinstalling MTGO, it is not a connection issue, I can play on my surface pro far inferior to the desktop with no issues.

    The app doesn't start...
    I deleted the app... and new install. No more starting...

  12. Friend’s status becomes offline when their phone is locked

    I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro Max and my girlfriend uses an iPhone 7 Plus. We both open the game and I see her on my friends list as online. She leaves her phone for a while, it locks, and she becomes online on my friends list. She unlocks her phone with the game still active but she still appears offline in my friends list. She sends a challenge invite to me and I receive it, but when I tap on it (bottom left corner of the screen), the challenge disappears and she stills appear offline. She has to restart…

  13. retrieving asset manifest

    The game just doesn’t start.
    Its stuck on „retrieving asset manifest“.
    The problem occurs on every device: iPad, iMac, Macbook.
    Workaround: Using a Phone-Hotspot.. but i wont spent any more money on extra-mb on my phone. Already spent too much on it for a „free to play“ game. This has to be possible via normal internet connection (wifi).
    Wish this bug could be fixed finally. No gaming until then.

  15. blackscreen after loading screen

    After downloading the new version of magic today on my smartphone and PC it showing the loading screen but after this the overview doesnt load and stays black, music is playing in the background and pressing esc giving you a sound feedback but nothing is showing up

  17. Lag, Misclick, Game Becoming Unplayable

    Whenever I play the game for multiple rounds. My actions become slower and slower until the game is completely paused. It's like the game is trying to go to full screen mode (which there isn't one) and then it snaps back into place. I don't have a good screenshot, but it's very frustrating and I'm on a fairly new computer. In Round 3 of my most current league I was left with 5 minutes on the timer, because my game was pausing for minutes at a time between click actions.

  19. unable to update client

    hello, My client has been unable to update for the last 3 or 4 days. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I continue to recieve this error message during the load/update process.

  20. Client crashes upon start up with with "critical error"

    When I start up the mtgo client, I receive an error message stating that there is a critical error and the client must restart. When I attempt to reopen the client, the same error comes up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client, but it did not fix the issue.
