Cannot Scan Enemy Cards
Hi, when in spelltable the card scanner only works on myself, but not on my opponents. it does not even try to scan them. I am on a mac and ive tried every browser. could you help me?
- I use Chrome, but have tried every browser
- Smartphone
- MacOS 12.0.1
- no error code or message
- there is no border around any cards of the opponents, only around my cards, so the AI only searches my cards, but does not even try to scan the other cards

Sucks to see this issue is a whole year old, guess the Spelltable team is as good at their job as their corporate overlords are at managing the game as a whole.
I didn't have this issue at all one week, and then suddenly it started happening when I made no changes to anything I was using to interact with the site. It prevents me from even interacting with the life counts or commander set buttons in Chrome

Hope this issue gets picked up. As a new player, this is frustrating as I'm slowing down games asking others what their cards are.

@Adaeren#07001 do you perchance have an account from a Wizards product old enough that you had to merge it with your Wizards account? I was able to get around the issue by creating a new account. Hopefully you can do the same.

@Ivarof#37575, that seems to be a new problem for me, but I'll give it a shot next time I play. It didn't work at all before I got a new account.

I've figured out what the problem is, it's by having the Codex active, going into settings and turning off automatic card recognition, and then you'll be able to click cards in games.

TalShar’s solution worked for me. I also had an old account and card registration only worked for my play area. I created a new account and it worked like a charm. +1 TalShar#47311

I have found a workaround!
My friend said it might be my account, which I've had since the 4E days. It was kind of a shot in the dark since we had eliminated every other possibility. But I made a new account with a different email address and guess what? It works like a charm! Everything is working as expected, now.
I expect there's some kind of authorization or permissions issue going on behind the scenes. Hopefully Wizards sees this and checks into it!

@Tylenthus not that I know of. I just went deep last night trying to fix this problem, diving into the console log and inspecting the source of the page, and still nothing. Tried it on a totally different device with different equipment, tried it on my mobile hotspot in case there was some kind of network constraint. Behavior is always the same.
Sure would be nice if the support team hadn't summarily closed both of my tickets with no action taken.

Is there any fixes or work around yet?

Same issue for me as well. It worked properly for yhe first two weeks of spell table but hasn't worked in over 3 months for me.
I've tried different browsers, clearing cache etc.
I've also tried all types of settings but I'm only able to click on cards from my playmat.
I end up having to type everything in and it's a huge bummer.
It made me so excited to be able to click on opponents cards and read them.
I play with my friends pretty regularly and none of them have this issue.
My pc and equipment are all fairly solid so I have no idea what the issue is.

Same here
And for @Sam#24469 the opponents have it turned on, they can see each other cards -

Issue is that my opponents have the Codex beta enabled and running. They can see each others' cards, and my cards, but I can only see mine.
This is really killing my enjoyment of the game as a new player. I keep having to ask people to stop and explain their cards. I've opened two different tickets with the support team and they've both been deleted (not closed, just deleted, removed entirely) with no response.

Hi folks, I'm guessing this is regarding the Codex beta - yeah, right now turning it on only enables it for your video feed, since it's your computer doing the processing work, so your opponents will have to turn it on for their accounts for it to work for their video feeds.
We're looking into potential solutions & ways to improve, though, so sit tight! -

I have the same exact issue. I can see my cards, my opponents can see them, they can see each others', but I can't lookup their cards except by text search.

Can only scan my own cards (which is also extremely unreliable no matter the lighting conditions)
