Seems to be working, an hour or so later. Perhaps log can be checked for why it occurred.

When playing in standard ranked matches, my rank does not go up. If I win a match, nothing shows and it seems unchanged. If I lose a match, it does show and it goes down.

This! It is angering me greatly too. I never play alchemy (unless it lures me into a game), I don't build alchemy decks and I never took an interest. The game has this data, but chooses to instead default to the format I don't play rather than the one I do - clearly favoring profits over user experience. This has to be changed.

Absolutely. I don't play magic so I can lose to an infinite loop combo. Wizards try to avoid this from happening, so it is clearly an oversight from them and needs to be fixed. Thus, it is a bug (for those who think it isn't).
