Before You Create a New Report


Before creating a new report, please enter the issue in the Issue Title field below to see if your issue has already been reported. It is a good idea to limit this to a few key words, like a device name or specific feature.

Example: webcam not found (Note: Partial words may not bring up results, we recommend to try webcam instead of cam or web cam)

If your issue has been reported already, click the VOTE button so that we know you've experienced that bug as well. You can also leave a comment if you'd like to add to the conversation about that bug or provide additional information you think might be useful.

If your bug has not been reported, please do so now! Update the Issue Title to reflect the problem you’ve encountered.

Example: Logitech Camera doesn’t work

Choose the Category that describes your problem.

Use the Describe your idea field to detail what happened, and provide the following information to allow us to investigate the issue:
  1. Summarize the problem
  2. List the steps you took that led to the problem
  3. What was the result that happened when you followed those steps
  4. What was the result you expected to happen when you followed those steps

Additional Information to Provide


You can provide additional information that can also help us perform an investigation quickly. Great information to include:
  1. The brand, model, and/or type of device you’re using (USB webcam, Android/Tablet, iPhone/iPad, etc.)
  2. The version or your operating system you’re using (i.e.: Windows 10, MacOS Big Sur, Android 11, iOS 14, etc.)
  3. Your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.)
  4. A screenshot of the issue or any error messaging received (Note: it must be smaller than 50 mb in size)
  5. The last are simple checks for any camera/microphone issues you might encounter:
  • Ensured permission has been granted for your Camera and Microphone through your preferred browser: Use your camera & microphone
  • Ensured that no other programs are using your Camera or Microphone (you can find information on how to perform this check by searching online)
  • Temporarily disabling any Anti-Virus programs that might disable camera and microphone access (even if you’re already granted it)
  • Tested your camera is working with Online Mic Test

  1. Spelltable camera feed bug: feed shows black bars on each side, obstructing left and right edge of the video

    Camera: HD Pro Webcam C920, front-facing laptop camera, any other device I tried it on

    Issue: A few days ago (at the time of writing) black bars suddenly appeared on the side of the video feed, obstructing the left and right side of the video. This has been the case for every browser that I have tried it on (Firefox, Chrome, Edge) and for every device I connected.

  2. There was a problem switching the camera, try closing the camera app

    Good morning,
    I have a bug with using the camera on a mobile phone. When I select the phone webcam option, after scanning the QR code, it takes me as usual to the 'join the game' button. Unfortunately, if I click on it, I get the following error: 'There was a problem switching the camera, try closing the camera app'. This error occurs even if I don't have any camera app open besides the spelltable website, and it happens with both mobile phones I own (an Honor and a mid-range Samsung).

  3. "Trouble Using Your Device"

    The past couple weeks my camera has been stuck in 4:3 ratio, but still connected to spelltable. As of last night when I create a room spelltable wont even see my camera and says "having trouble using your device". Ive reset permissions and cache, made sure nothing else is using it, even tried a different camera, still the same result. Also, for what its worth, before it says that its having trouble using my device the "connecting to servers" message comes up which ive never seen before.

  4. camera flipping

    when using mobile camera as per normal
    1. join lobby on pc to get qr code
    2. scan qr code on phone (back camera is working to scan/in other apps)
    3. attempt to swap camera does not work (ie to change to back camera), can join using the front camera but quality is bad + its the front camera so not really useful.
    4. upon attempting to swap to back camera it is stuck in a loading icon and no video

  5. There was a problem changing the camera, try closing your camera app.

    I went to play a game of Commander with my friends like i just did 6 hours ago. In the lobby screen i could see my Cam just like i used to for the past 1.5 years but after clicking join lobby it showed ,,There was a problem changing the camera, try closing your camera app.". It is the first time i had that problem, as I said 6h earlier it worked just fine and all my attempts to fix it failed. Please Help

  6. Webcam very zoomed in on spelltable, nowhere else .

    Camera is zoomed in, i lose like 1/3 or 1/4 of the Picture this occurs only in Spelltable. I use Firefox and Logitech C922.

  7. I can't see video's anymore.

    I never used to have this issue until a few days ago and now after rebooting phone and PC the issue persists. After I scan the QR code, and on every one else's screen, I get the message: "There was a problem changing the camera, try closing your camera app". I have it set up to use my phone and other players can see my set up through my phone just fine, but I cannot see anyone else's screen.     load a game and keep getting We Had Trouble Using Your Device. Internal webcam works, but External webcams and phones won't. Setting are right, tried different browsers. nothing working.

    There was a problem changing the camera, try closing your camera app

    I can get three different sources shown correctly right before I join in but as soon as I do, everyone else's screen is black and has this same message- it doesn't make any sense because I can't change other peoples cameras. Also, I can see other people's camera's for about a half second before it just blacks out and gives the error message for everyone.

  10. Mobile camera is not properly connecting

    I have been using my mobile Android device for spelltable for half a year. Until about 3 days ago, there had been no issues at all. Now whenever I use my mobile camera, the lobby screen on my pc still shows the QR code and is black even after successfully scanning and logging in with my phone. I am able to record myself and my table with my phone but none of it registers with the spelltable lobby open in my pc. There is just the QR code which I already scanned and is still waiting for me to connect…

  12. Phone doesnt work since recent update that displays all cameras as options

    Here's an idea, how about every time you update or modify the software, you actually test it on a number of different devices. Every single change brings so many new problems. Cant believe the QR still points to a ?login=true url that kicks you from the game
    now since the update that lists each camera on a phone, the main rear camera doesnt work
    do you only assign jr devs to this or what?
    Is hocking literal cardboard at a 20000% markup somehow not profitable enough to warrant a decent devops team?

  13. OBS video source displays in lobby, but displays black screen in game

    When using OBS virtual camera the preview works fine, but when you enter a game the screen is black.

    Setup:
    -Windows 11
    -Google Chrome Browser
    -Enabled Camera/Audio permissions in Chrome and windows
    -When pulling video directly from a camera the video is fine.
    -When waiting in a lobby, the video displays correctly when OBS is selected.

  14. SpellTable Doesn't Have Permission

    1. Open link to game in Chrome
    2. In the field where the camera output would be it says "We Don't Permission To Use Your Camera"
    3. Went ahead anyway, everyones camera field says the same
    4. Checked if that was the case, it wasn't
    5. Actual: Went to clear all settings on all browsers, retry, didnt work
    6. Expected: Allowing the camera permission form the site and show the camera feed when trying to join

  15. The "Create Game" button on spelltable doesnt work

    I am signed into spelltable and I select "Create Game". I enter the appropriate info and click "Create". After a few moments of loading, the game creation screen fails to load and resets.

  16. "We had trouble using your device" with Surf Onn 1440p with Autofocus

    I found a Surf Onn 1440p Webcame in clearance at walmart for cheap and figured it be a good upgrade from me old one, my wifes old unbranded webcam that gives off a fisheye affect while playing. But the new one wont work on Spelltable.   17. Every mobile device camera, including android phone, Iphone and ipad only shows square video

    Every mobile device camera, including android phone, Iphone and ipad only shows square video. it's working fine until yesterday when suddenly my ipad camera displayed square video of my board in spell table. I tried every mobile device as camera, android phones and an iphone and all of them display square video. I even rotated the deice permanently to landscape and still its displaying square video. Please add a setting to select aspect ratio for video display.

  18. Video not displaying / loading

    I seem to be able to load into lobbies just fine but then the video is just stuck as the screenshot shows forever.
    I'm using my mobile device as camera and it seems to connect just fine as well but neither other player or myself can see the video from it.
    I'm on windows 10 and chrome and reloading the browser or even restarting my computer doesn't help. Spell table was working for me just fine until a few days ago and this seems to be a common problem for people playing on the server that I'm playing in.

  19. Spelltable stuck loading

    Spelltable is stuck at the spinning loading circle for me and a bunch of others in discord. We have tried clearing cache and cookies (multiple people trying), multiple browsers, and the issue persists.
