The game currently does not allow you to challenge friends (through direct challenge) to play Historic Brawl. I made a post here last month when the 100-card Historic Brawl queue came into effect after not being able to challenge my friend to a game - much to my disappointment after how excited we both were for the update.
I have since seen comments written online from WotC employees saying that you are aware of the issues and that they would be fixed in a future update. There has now been at least two major updates (MID update included) and I am still unable to challenge friends to play Historic Brawl.
I have spent a lot of real money (and time) to get wildcards in order to build Historic Brawl decks and given that I am not even able to play these decks with my friends I am unlikely to spend any more money on the game as the features I expect the game to have do not exist.
Please fix this in the next update or expect to lose yet another paying customer.JamesD1337#32558

It is absolutely shocking to me that after more than a month you are still unable to direct challenge people to games of 100-card historic brawl online. Completely unacceptable - get it sorted Wizards!
