I think he meant 0 in the sense "Don't target a spell to counter" since adding the additional target would prevent Ivy's ability from triggering. To help clarify a little, doing it that way, Ivy's ability triggers, but when the copy resolves, no counters are added to Ivy. When the original copy resolves, the first target does get counters.
