This happened to me multiple times and I always just yolo'd the card style I ACTUALLY wanted afterwards. So far I have "wasted" about 4000 gems on this bs. Now I thought I'd finally record this and provide steps to reproduce it. Here's how you can get the error reliably:

    1. Get into deck editor
    2. On the "Advanced Filters" pane under thge Collection Group, check the "Not Collected" filter.
    3. Confirm with "Ok" to return to the main deck editor view.
    4. Chose any card that has multiple reprints, of which you own some and others you do not. Lands are the easiest example here, in my case I filtered for "life" to get the life lands.
    5. Expand the card to reveal all owned and unowned variants and card styles.
    6. Buy a card style of a edition of which you HAVE NOT YET COLLECTED the card, and IS NOT THE FIRST UNOWNED CARD STYLE.
    7. The purchase for that card style is confirmed by the store dialogue, but instead of the selected card style, you have actually received the FIRST UNOWNED CARD STYLE OF THE FIRST EDITION YOU HAVE ALREADY COLLECTED FOR THE CARD.

Now if you try to buy the actual card style again, you get a Store Error "Unknown Error" until you restart the client.

I have recorded the whole thing, but since 544Mb video is too big of an attachment I uploaded it to YouTube instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSpgCSaPgKA
