    Not sure why this hasn't been fixed because there are bug reports for it going back a couple years.

    There is a workaround if you know what to look for. If you see that the message changes to say that it's joining a match or waiting for opponent or whatever as you cancel out, you can quickly restart your client and it will rejoin the match. That's of course assuming you didn't cancel out because you realized you don't have time to play the match.

    I also just had this problem. The trick is when you see the loading message change to something like "waiting for opponent" as you're cancelling, you know that you're supposed to be in the game. To avoid a loss you can quickly restart your client and it will put you into the game. This issue has been in the game for a while now and I don't know why it hasn't been fixed yet.
