    The work around described by bcmarinacci in the most recent (bottom) post on that git hub discussion does resolve this. However, we should not need to do this, and entering full screen mode the "wrong" way results in image truncation. Please, if it is within your power (and I suspect it is), allow us to select an appropriate resolution for our displays. Lettering boxing (black bars) is okay. Truncating the image just to fill the screen is the worse option.
